Cheap pregnancy tests and the mystery of the missing period!

Just wondering what people's opinions of really cheap tests are?

We've been TTC #2 for 16 mo now, so obviously have been tracking my periods quite closely and am very regular. I go through phases of 28 and 31 day cycles. I'm currently on day 34. I bought some cheap tests from home bargains, and they're saying not pregnant.

Could it be the tests? Or am I not pregnant, and there's a different reason for my absent period?

They are as reliable as expensive tests. Your missing period if not pregnant is likely due to late ovulation or not having ovulated.

Have you seen a GP to have basic tests to check everything is okay?

I'd say the only tests you should avoid and not trust are the predictor ones (had 2 false positives when other brands gave BFN). The rest are pretty reliable.

Right ok, so I'm not pregnant Sad

So where the fuck is my period? This is a cruel trick being played on me!

I found the cheapy ones more sensitive so more than likely not the tests I'm afraid :(

Like I said, it's likely that you ovulated late or not at all. If you ovulated late then your period will be correspondingly late or you might still be pg after all.

After 16 months of trying, have you been to the gp?
