Ttc after cerazette

Ok so I have read some real horror stories in respect of trying to conceive after cerazette and thought I would share my story or bore you all with my progress (or possible lack of haha)

So I stopped taking cerazette one week ago at the end of the last packet as me and my partner decided we would start Ttc.

First couple of days I had very light bleeding but felt fine then on the third day I started feeling bloated. To date I am still looking and feeling bloated, feel exhausted and have sore boobs and have been feeling very nauseous.

Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to conceive?

Thanks for reading :)

I know how you feel. I came off cerazette just over a month ago. I'm currently waiting to see how stable my cycle is before ttc. Plus I've started taking folic acid.

I'm looking to start ttc towards the end of the year but came off cerazette fairly early and quite happy about it. I feel the same as you though, I'm really bloated, I'm sure I put on weight even though I'm eating more healthy now and have sore boobs. At one point I actually thought they grew, with me being 31 would be highly unusual to say the least lol.

Would be interesting to know how you get on and how other woman got on.

I took last pill on 11th May and got BFP Fri 20th June, did a clearblue with conception indicator on Sun 23rd and it said 'pregnant 1-2 weeks', although I have been spotting since Fri evening so not sure if I have a sticky bean.

Fingers crossed for you Rikalaily! Jenk83 I sympathise with you fully, I have been getting munchies big time so feel like I have ballooned as well!
I'm 27 so not sure how long it will take as have been taking contraceptives since I was 17 and haven't actively tried before, I'm feeling impatient though and resisting the urge to test already as have not had a period yet I no they recommend waiting at least 3 weeks before testing.

I have been off it three months.

Straight to a regular 28 day cycle, but no BFP yet

It took a little over 2 months for my periods to return after cerazette then 6 months to conceive. I was charting and when I looked back I realised that for most of those months we hadn't timed sex well and the first month we did I got pregnant. I was also scared by the stories about cerazette but fir me it was fine.

Hi ladies, i stopped cerazette in mid april, after7 years on it, had a withdrawl bleed on 5th may and since then have had a bleed lasting 3 days heavy 2 days spottin (5 in total) every 20-24 days. No BFP. Not even sure i am ovulating.

I also experienced all the same symptoms as u, i was peeing more, bloated, feelin sick, sore bigger boobs for the first month or so.

This TTC business is not always as straight forward as we'd like lol.

Glad to hear some positive stories.
Guess it's down to the individuals as well :)
Had a quick nosey on google this
Morning (yes I know, shouldn't do it) but appears I had all the signs of ovulating approximately 2 days after stopping the pill last week(sorry if tmi) so am keeping everything crossed!
Good luck ladies :) xx

I came off Cerazette in October, and my cycle was pretty regular more or less straight away and I didn't really have any bloating or anything like that.

Started trying in January, BFP in February (MMC in April unfortunately), so I think it just depends on the person rather than it having the same effect on everyone.

Good luck Grin

Hi ladies, I came off it 20th may, had a 'normal' bleed and now I am waiting for af to come along!
Cycle day 34 today so hopefully she will arrive ASAP so we can continue with our ttc mission!

Surely crying at The Land Before Time is normal?! -whistles shiftily-

Watching this thread with interest as I'm coming off the Cerazette in a few weeks, as soon as my doctor gives my thyroid the thumbs up.

After coming off Cerazette I got pregnant within 3 months each time - I think it's more about individual fertility / luck than the pill.

Just found out I am being made redundant from my job in Novemeber so trying not to stress !

Hi all I'm new to this but looking for some help and advise! You will have to bear with me as I'm not sure of all the code words etc yet :-/
I was also on cerazette for 8 years heard horror stories I came off it within a few days I had withdrawal bleed and a period every month since

My AF is due is another 5 days or so I'm normally 32 days each month...

I have been extremely tired and moody/emotional boobs are so sore and feel heavy and last week I had bad cramping all day in lower left abdo some cramping now slightly just feels like PMS

I took a test 2 days ago and it showed negative then a faint positive line appeared.. I have been TTC for 4 months now so was so happy I took another test the next day and this showed negative :/ both were HPT just cheap ones but was so disheartened I guess I will have to wait of AF arrives

Also last months AF lasted for three days only one was sufficient enough to use tampons the further two days were so light and spotting

Sorry for the long message help and support welcome

Xx

Hello all,

Thought I'd add my experience too. It's not quite as positive as some I'm afraid.

I was on Cerazette for three years until coming off it on 8/03/14 to TTC. I didn't have a period at all while i was on it. I then got my BFP pretty quickly on 15/05/14 without having a period in-between, my first pregnancy. Unfortunately I had a MMC last week at about 9 weeks. The baby stopped growing at 6+3 according to the ultrasound.

I have no idea what caused it and never will as it was my first MC. I just know that if i was to go back in time I'd wait for AF to pay a visit before TTC just for peace of mind. Perhaps my body hadn't settled into its normal cycle and my hormones weren't quite right. Whatever the reason I'd certainly urge caution on anyone who is TTC after being on this pill for a longer period of time.

On another note, does anyone know of a good thread for people TTC to conceive after a MMC?

Thanks!! xx

Really interesting to hear everyone's stories. I have three more pills left and it's nice to see some people have had regular cycles return quickly!

Well has been 2 weeks since my last cerazette pill exactly and I still have nausea, lower back ache, tingling boobs , bloating, constipation , increase in discharge, extreme tiredness and getting emotional at stupid stuff! Still too early for me to do a test as would only be about 8 dpo but trying to think positive as I really don't feel 'right' if that makes any sense! Wishing you all lots of baby dust xx

Oh that's great news Fairey, when you do POAS you'll have to update us here. I've got my last pill to take this evening then thats it! It's going to be really weird not taking Cerazette every day, is that strange?

Vikki Have you tried taking another test since?

Fairey86 · 30/06/2014 16:28

Is a bit strange when you are so used to taking it everyday but it's nice not having to worry about taking it :)
