WHAT in hell does all this mean?

Right, so has anyone else had anything like this? Apologies if a bit long.

My period was due around 22nd May. Did internet cheapie hpt on 21st and 22nd but both appeared to be faulty, showing pink but thick and fuzzy lines where the positive should be. These big blobby lines also took a while to appear so probably not within the right time scale.

Then AF starts, but stalls for a bit, then starts again, stalls, starts etc. But all in all seems like a period for about 3 days (shorter than normal) then stops dead but a bit of spotting for several days. In the meantime checked and got a couple of bfns.

All this is complicated by me having a horrible D&V virus for 5 days over the whole debacle and feeling terrible.

Fast forward to now, feel better but still not quite right. Strange pains in abdomen. On a whim, do another test 2 days ago and today and get the faulty, big fuzzy pink lines again.

I'm going to have another ectopic pregnancy aren't I? Am ancient by the way (41) with only one tube left and a couple of other miscarriages under my belt too, but nothing for about 3 yrs.

Help!

Are you definitely dipping the tests correctly and for the right amount of time? If you are, then it might be a faulty batch or something. I would try with a different, better quality test like a FRER, or if you want something cheap the Superdrug own brand ones are fab and very cheap!
Fx for you.

And are you able to upload a pic of the tests?

I'm fairly sure you'd say it's a faulty batch as that is what I assumed. But I had used about 12 of them previously probably over the last 4 or 5 months and this had not happened before at all.

I always do a test just before and often just after AF as I'm so shit scared of another ectopic. Nowadays I feel relieved when it's negative as it's fairly clear I won't have any more DC :(

Will pop off and try and upload pics - but I know what you'll say! They're not proper +ves.

I would definitely suggest using a different test then. If there is a pink line where the positive should be though, surely it must be a positive, even if it is a little squiffy?! Hmmm. Very odd!

Oh I see, I know what you mean! Yeah, definitely buy a proper test. They seem a bit dodgy haha

Half term has prevented me stocking up on tests from other places, but will get some tomorrow. Still feel something dodgy going on down there but maybe it's psychosomatic.

My gut is telling me that they are positive to be honest. There's a line there, the pink must be coming from somewhere! It's just very blobby and weird, never seen anything like it haha. Let us know how you get on tomorrow! I'm intrigued to see how this ends up haha

D&V could be causing discomfort. But, you NEED peace of mind. Nearest chemist / Tesco. For something on the more reliable scale.

I never used to trust the FRER hype. But, they have certainly given me confidence (both directions) of late. It is money. But not frivolous if you've got concerns.

I am sure another brand will be negative.

Even if these fuzzy messes indicate anything in the positive realm, they would/should not be like that 10 days after AF due.

One thing I am sure of from bitter reproductive (or lack of) experience - nothing good will come of this!

But will update.

Yeh, those lines don't look right at all. I've never used a test which has been faulty, but those test do look like they are not working right. I would definitely get another one from elsewhere ASAP and put your mind at rest. Let us know what happens!

Hi
Those sticks look flooded to me-I had that with clear blue Digi OPKs and one ic cheapie opk that i dipped accidentally over the dip line, before and wasn't sure what they meant. Never so many flooded at the same time though. I agree that a FRER is the best way forward to know for sure. Good Luck!!

Have you tested again?

Weeeell, I haven't managed to get any new tests (have severely disabled DS, bear with me).

But I have had one bfn (fmu) and one more fuzzy thing with the same batch. This does rather point to dodgy tests.

Am going to put the last one in the bin, honest, and plan to go to superdrug tomorrow.

Clearly it will be negative but I will let you know.
