Confused and worried

I'm slightly concerned about something and am turning to women who hopefully have had experience and shed some light on it (that's what I'm hoping anyway)...
I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and a few days later I checked on my period tracker and it had happened on the date that they predicted was my most fertile day of the month. I put it to the back of my mind and just hoped my period would show up, which I thought it had 5 days ago but it was extremely extremely light and stopped the same day it started but I've continued to have period stomach cramps everyday (whilst everyday I've hoped that my period would start properly) and my boobs are really swollen and sore to touch which usually stops when I've started my period but is just carrying on.
So I put 2 and 2 together and thought I could possibly be pregnant but when I took a pregnancy test this afternoon it was negative. So I'm really confused... Could I still be pregnant even if it shows a negative result? Can you have a light period and continuous period stomach cramps when pregnant? I know all of this sounds stupid especially when I've had a negative result but I'm worried that if it's not pregnancy that it's something more sinister because I am usually like clockwork and have the same type of period every month and this just doesn't feel right.

How many dpo are you? It could be too soon to get a positive x

You could be pregnant and just not testing positive yet, unfortunately all you can do is give it time

There's every chance you could be pg.
Sadly the only thing you can do is wait it out until closer to your next period.

But how much longer do I give it? I'm now 5 days passed the random 'period' I had is that still too soon? I've never experienced anything like this before and never been pregnant so I don't know what to expect... It could just be my body acting differently but it just seems too strange with everything combined

Do a pink dye test with your first morning urine!

I'm planning to do that tomorrow morning and if it comes back negative that it right? Just take the lack of a proper period and horrendously sore boobs as just my body doing a strange thing?

Did you do another test?

Well they say your not out until Af shows up, so i would guess you are still in the running.

You may have ovulated later in the month and that is why you haven't come on yet, or your body is playing silly buggers.
