I had a mc 5 years ago then luckily got pregnant 3 month later. DS is 5 tomorrow :-)
After having him i developed pcos & my periods are all the place! Iv been seeing a consultant endocrinologist for past 2 yrs & was started on Metformin to help regulate my cycles. Problem i have is my prescribed dose is 500mcg x4 a day....but iv only ever been able to stomach 2 a day. I have now been put on the slow release version & these past few weeks have managed to take 3 a day...so getting there.
My prog levels & lh fsh levels were out a while ago, so i think my chances of having any more dc is out the window.....Me & hubby have just said if it happens it happens. Deep down i want it to happen so bad. FX i start ovulating again soon. Xx

Morning ladies, I hope you don't mind me gate crashing! I'm just starting out with my tww and I feel like it's going to be the longest two weeks ever! I'm ttc #1. I had a mc 7 weeks ago so very nervous about kicking off with things again. Very positive to hear 1moretime that you had your DS after your mc. Hope things start happening for you soon! Nice to have company for the tww birdtable! FX for us all!

Hello ladies. Hope you don't mind another crasher. I'm actually almost half way through the 2ww. Really hope Icalculated ovulation correctly! Would be expecting AF around 9-10 June but really hoping I've put her off indefinitely by all this SWI Grin.

We'realso going for DC2. DS is 20mo. He still BFs at bed time so I have an added hurdle I'm going to have to deal with if we succeed. With all his teething and generally disturbed sleeping pattern we just haven't had the energy to TTC before now. I couldn't help but second-guess myself last week... wtf am I doing just when DS' sleep is getting really settled. Gluttons for punishment or what?

Yeh I have days when I wonder why we are going to kill ourselves all over again with the sleepless nights etc (espec when daytime napping for mummy will be restricted by a toddler) but the broody bug has got me again. Plus think my little one would get lonely without a bro or sis, plus not being the centre of our universe will prob be good for him...plus babies are lovely!!!!

Please could I join in too?
Also in tww - started the wait on Friday and already going mad! 1 DD 3.2 and 2 mcs the last one was followed by complications and took a while to get back to normal; so just want to get on with the getting a bfp and then face the task of getting through the 12 week wait! Confused

Hi Zoolady and Gandtnow! So sorry to hear about all the mc is much be crushing. Fx this time.

Can I join too? 2ww started last Monday I think, AF due Saturday 7th. And she's been bang on due date last three months and turned me into a tear sodden hopeless case! However I have a good feeling about this month as we DTD right around the right times, and lots of times too lol.

Here's hoping this is the month for us! Been TTC since November but only really count it since Christmas to be fair as I've ignored the two months before. Wanted to get back into a rhythm and it seems I have. Also developed an obsession with OPK and symptom spotting so am turning into one of those lol!

Hi GandTnow and Fruity.
Wow 7 years is a long time from nappies! In a way it must be easier as imagine your dc1 is reasonably independent but is it hard to get into the mindset of going through it all again and having a baby permanently attached?!
I get pmt about 1.5 weeks before af so I know when those symptoms start that the window has definitely closed so don't tend to bother std after that and dh is so knackered from it all he doesnt ask!

ladyflower23 · 01/06/2014 21:22

That was meant to be dtd not std!

Hi fruityb! It's a horrid feeling when af turns up isn't it? I have become obsessed my opk as well but can find them more stressful than their worth!!
Yes it will be a shock to go back to baby things but feel it's the right time for us!! Really looking forward to nappies, baby grows, buggies etc!!!
What day is everyone testing?!

Hi everyone. I think DS read my earlier reply about improved sleep and thought he'd show me just who is boss around here. I'm also going to hold off testing until AF due date. Not that there is an exact due date but I've been averaging 30 cycles so plan to go with that.

Is OPK an ov prediction kit? Are they any good? Not that I want to know about them as I really want to bypass but thinking if this month isn't successful then maybe I'll go for that option. For DS, I charted and took temp religiously but since his birth everything is different. Haven't bothered with temps due to night wakings which have been brutal.

We don't DTD after the "window of opportunity" because we both just want to sleep Grin. We did plan to carry over an extra night from calculated ovulation just to "top up" but DP's work had other ideas. Just have to hope that the oaths was correct and that the equipment was all in good order.

Respect to those who are doing this all again with DC who are now relatively independent. I defo want to compress my "nappy years".

GandTnow · 02/06/2014 08:22

Going to try and hold off testing until 13th when af is due - but having said that jsut been looking at the percentages of positives when testing early with first response!

How can two weeks feel so loooong?!

blankfornames · 02/06/2014 09:10

Af is due on the 12th. Birdtable, I also can't help symptom spotting either! My boobs are very sore at the moment, although there's generally only a few days in the month when they are not sore! I can't really tell when I'm ovulating so I used a cbfm this month just to be sure.We dtd everyday I got a high/peak reading except the high after the peak so I really hope I didn't miss the window of opportunity. Dtd to a timetable does take the romance out of it don't you think ?!!

I know these 2 weeks are ridiculous. I find the whole waiting thing so difficult and trying to second guess what my body's doing all the time. First waiting for period to finish, then waiting to ovulate, then waiting for af/BFP. Too much waiting!! Then all the unsexy busy with your cervical mucus - oooh it didn't stretch quite an inch, does that mean it's fertile or not? I will go and jump husband just in case - oh hello husband I'm feeling fertile, quick have sex with me - how do you know - I just do OK!
Sex to a timetable is so unsexy blankfornames, you are so right. I think my window is shut now, but wondering whether to do it again tonight for a top up just in case...if either of us can face doing it again and on a Monday night.

Ha ha Ladyflower, you've totally on my wavelength there! Dh was afraid to kiss good night last night incase I'd hop him!! At least this thread exists...we can ladyrant together!
I've been taking folic acid for months but is that enough? Should I be taking a multi vitamin also or instead...just incase this tww turns out to be a fruitful one! Can anyone advise? Thanks!

I know, it is a great place to let out all the crazy so you can act normal around your real life people!
I'm taking Vitabiotics Pregnacare Conception which is a multivit. Not sure whether it's really necessary, but it contains zinc which apparently supports reproduction.
