I also had a mmc in Feb followed by erpc. The first two periods I had were a lot lighter than pre-mc, this third one just gone was more back to normal.

Ok so fingers crossed they may settle down a bit. So worried I won't be able to get pregnant again! Have you started trying again yet?

I had one period after MMC and ERPC. It was 6 weeks after I finished bleeding after the ERPC, and it was brutally heavy and painful. It completely wiped me out. I then got pregnant again, I'm pretty sure I ov'd 2 weeks exactly after my period ended and got my BFP 2 weeks after that. Good luck and I'm sorry for your loss Flowers

Very, very sorry to hear of your loss.

I had a very early mc - about five weeks or so. I then got pregnant immediately after. Sadly discovered at seven weeks that something had gone wrong and took several more weeks of scans before an Mva at 10 weeks.

I'm now having my first period (not including the week or so of bleedingafter the Mva) three weeks later. I had quite a bit of pain which isn't usual for me but it is very light. I have asked a few friends who have been through the same and apparently both are normal.

Just remember you are still extra fertile for several months after a mc- not just the first month.

A big unmumsnet hug to you - I am where you are too and know how traumatising and distressing it all is. Thanks

And we started trying again immediately. Doctor was completely ok with this as the only reason to wait a cycle is to make dating easier, but she said it is fine. It is very normal to not want to wait

Sorry for your loss OP Thanks

I had a mc and erpc in January. My periods were very irregular afterwards - between 21 and 35 day cycles, sometimes heavy and sometimes light, sometimes a few days long and sometimes over a fortnight. It was a right pain in the neck!

I had just been referred for further in investigations at gynaecology when I found out I was pregnant in October.

I was so anxious during this period - you need to be kind to yourself if things don't happen straight away. We tried pretty much straight away too.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Thanks

I had an erpc in August 2013, first period was about 6 weeks after, ovulated 4 weeks after, was quite heavy but not painful. Next two were normal then fell pregnant in December. Tc of yourself.

I had a Mmc in October last year, i had an ERPC two weeks after we found out :( 11 days after the ERPC i had a day of bleeding and a negative test, then nothing. 28 days after the ERPC my period started and was regular from then on.

Fell pregnant in Jan this year!

Thankyou so much for all your replies, makes me feel like there is hope. No idea if my periods are normal and I'm still not sure if I'm ovulating but we are going to keep trying and hope for the best.
Keep reading on the Internet about ashermans syndrome and scar tissue after erpc and its really scared me but feel the need to be clued up on these things just incase.
Congratulations to all of you that are now pregnant after mmc, such a horrible thing to go through.

What's an MVA?

Manual vacuum aspiration. Much safer than d&c, no damage or scarring risks etc. It's done under local rather than general and it is fairly unpleasant but better long term

Oh right I've never heard of it? Is that like a suction?

Just had a quick google of it, sounds similar to erpc.

Questions I'm really sorry to hear about your mmc.

My experience was that the first one or two periods were really heavy and painful but after that they settled down. Good luck with ttc, really hoped it all works out for you.

Yes it's similar to suction.

If it helps questions, pregnancies that occur in the six months following a mc are statistically much more likely to succeed. I'm not sure they know why but may give you some hope Thanks
