Hi

I got my BFP on 7th May and see my doctor on the 13th May. I am 5 weeks 3 days today (Tuesday 20th) i have had right shoulder ache on and off since around the 10th may. i have been sleeping on my right side which i don't usually do and have put the shoulder ache/pain down to this.

Yesterday (Mon may 19th) I had some mild cramps in the morning which seemed to go and returned about mid day and become stronger as the afternoon went on, they become quite uncomfortable so i went for a lay down early evening and when i woke up they had seemed to pass. around half hour after i woke i started to bleed like i was having my period which was due around the 10th. I called the hospital for advice and they advised to go to A&E. They couldn't give me much information and said its either a normal bleed, an ectopic pregnancy or I'm miscarrying. They have arranged a scan for Wednesday morning (21st).

The pain become worse and worse while i was waiting there and is now radiating in my back as well as abdomen. Before i fell pregnant i suffered with endo and it feels very much like a very painful period. Im trying to hold out hope but cant help think it doesn't look good. Im so worried im miscarrying :(

Hi TJowned and Rachie

Thank-you very much for your kind words I really appreciate it xxxx

Thank-you very much Baking and MrsPopple I didn't want to bring gloom to the threads xxxx

To update im still bleeding and in pain. The pain is going though to my back and hip which is what i usually suffer with, with Endo, when im on my period. There are also other factors that are maybe TMI which make me think its not good news x will try and stay positive but its very difficult. Thanks again ladies for your kind wishes xxxx

Hi lilyPie Thank-you xxxx

I visited my doctor, she gave me some painkillers to help the pain that are a bit better than paracetamol but safe to take. She didn't want to speculate on what it might or might not be and said its just best to wait for my scan today and look after myself in the meantime. She did mention a chemical pregnancy and that they don't go past 5 weeks usually.
I am 5+3 today not 5+4 so a day behind where i thought I was, although not sure if that makes much difference.

Thanks again for all the responses xx

Its sad news im afraid there was no sign of a pregnancy my uterus was completely Empty. The lady performing the scan said she thinks i miscarried as im bleeding quite a lot. They have taken my bloods to check its not ectopic, although its more to rule it out, they don't seem Concerned that it is ectopic. I need to return Friday for more bloods to be taken.

Hi Bean, Bless you I know you were really happy for me. :(

I was trying to take comfort in thinking that at least it wasn't further along like others have had to endure. I was also thinking it was a chemical pregnancy, which sad as it is, at least means there was never really a baby there and it was giving me a small comfort.

iv just passed what looks like cells and the nature of how im bleeding has made me think miscarriage. Im so confused. They couldn't give me a definitive answer on whats happened either so then I can accept it one way or the other and move forward. Unfortunately my partner got a bit over excited when I got my BFP and told quite a few family members who have told people we know. So when letting them know we will have to say we suffered 'a loss" as cant actually say if it was a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy.

I was feeling ok earlier and thinking to look forward, now i feel like i have been kicked in the stomach :(

Oh hun it must be awful, can only imagine how you feel:( are they likely to find out anymore on Friday do you think? Very sad news im sure it will take a little while to get over and you are bound to feel rubbish right now I do hope you and your partner can move forward and when the time is right start trying again x x x
