Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo
~~~~~~~~~
ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.
Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!
Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.
Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).
POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!
Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.
Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.
Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.
Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!
Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP
TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!
Ok, so.. Not sure what to do. I haven't iced yet this cycle, as expected... I'm thinking it should happen this weekend, or mon, but we're away as from this Friday. I've already decided I'm drinking etc, in an attempt to relax and invoke the law of sod that I'll be upduffed. Will be donning cape etc etc.
The question is..... We're away for 2 weeks, so AF due just couple of days after we get back, should I buy a frer test to take with us, in case I can't handle waiting to check, oooor, wait until I'm back and AF is due?
The thing is, I know if I test and it's neg I'll be sad, but if I don't test I might get all uptight.. What shall I do?
Ok so I'm being a bit thick here.
I'm on CD17 and no idea if/when I ovulate
OPK last month showed nothing
Definitely had nausea and headache for a couple of days and brain is working overtime.
Wondering if we should still be DTD - I thought the show is over on CD14
Currently being arsed around by the Red Witch.
Zyla if it was me, I wouldn't take one but I don't know how stressed you will get. I have no real reasoning behind it, I just like to wait until AF if I can.
Report
wilhelminand · 13/05/2014 19:24
Purple the average is cd14 for a 28 day cycle. But saying that I think my AF is so late because I think I ovulated really late this cycle - maybe around day 20 - don't know if this is right, just guessing by cervical mucus. I usually have a 28 day cycle (currently on cd32 Angry). You are always best to cover yourself by keeping going if you don't know when you ov. Did you say you had PCOS? In which case have you been to doc about possibility of not ovulating if it didn't show up last month?
TabbyTurmoil · 13/05/2014 19:42
Tabby, 35, ttc since April, no kids just the tabbies, cd5 and looking forward to getting back to the shagging.
Zyla can you stick a test in your luggage just in case obsession looms but then proceed on the assumption you will be busy enjoying yourself and forget about it? Or will it burn a hole in your pocket, so to speak? (it would mine)
Report
RPopz · 13/05/2014 19:48
Zyla I wouldn't. Just work on the assumption you'll be having too much of a good time to care... and if AF is late when you get back its something to look forward to Grin
Definitely feels more real now, but slightly terrified I've jinxed myself booking in so early! And now I've read all the leaflets and bumf they gave me I'm realising I actually really REALLY want this baby... and not to just be pg. Does that make sense?? Anyway, bit heavy for the new fred!
What's everyone else been upto today?
Purple - if you look at the SMEP that says to keep JSing for 2 days after ov I think, then miss a day and then JS one last time (for luck!). Apparently most people stop too early. But then... it seems to be better to have the swimmers up there waiting for the egg rather than other way round so I wouldn't worry if you have stopped! x
It totally makes sense Rpopz. Without wanting to bring the thread down already talking of negative things - there is definitely a turning point where you start thinking of a baby rather than just being pg. I was very grateful that I hadn't got to that stage yet when I mc'd or I would have found it much harder. They don't let you book in here until about 8 weeks and it feels like Aaaaages when you're waiting for it so good that you've got it done.
Ok, thanks guys, i think I'll not put one it, it would burn a whole in my ROC!
purple how longs's your cycle? I didn't ovulate until day 21 last cycle, but was on a 35 day cycle.. So....
Booking in is 9 weeks here! And scans not until 13weeks.
Purple, I would always get it on a little after ov too just in case of late obv especially I'd you aren't tracking. That said, the month I finally got pregnant with DD was when we started early that month!
Zyla, I also wouldn't take tests with me. But then again I'm on of these crazy people who doesn't test until AF is late.
If you think a BFN will ruin the last few days of your hop then test when you get home. Or would there be a local shop to run to if you get desperate?
Thanks folks
I do have PCOS but I'm on a 28 day cycle at the mo
It has fluctuated in the past but has been pretty regular for the past few months.
I'm exhausted, which isn't usual. Worried about another chem, well trying not to worry and failing
Might summon up the urge to DTD just for one last shot. Suspect we have stopped trying too soon in the past. Although we are 2/3 a week usually.
I thought I had the egg white thing the other day but now questioning myself
Gawd this is a minefield!
Zyla I'd take a test with you, I wouldn't be able to wait til back home
My AF is due 23/5 and we will be at my sisters and most likely drinking.
I'm wondering if a FRER the day before will show anything.
I need to think up an excuse for no wine or else come clean
I remember not getting booked in til 11 weeks with DS which drove me mad with the waiting but then I kept changing hospitals throughout preg so ended up booking in 3 times. That's a lotta blood tests and questionnaires!
A FRER should show the day before I would have thought. Always a good idea if you want to have a drink with a clear conscience! A chem is the one thing which stops me testing early Purple, I'd rather just not know. I'm trying to have the philosophy of not worrying over things beyond my control. May not be saying the same if I ever manage to get upduffed.
Was tempted to do another mad dash to the supermarket tonight but stopped myself because I thought they probably still wouldn't have the tests in. Also, I really don't feel pg. Have much more energy than normal and no nausea at all. In fact if I was pg, the lack of symptoms would seriously concern me! No sign of AF at all though Confused. Although if I maybe ovulated about a week later than normal, I guess I have another 3 days of this at least.
