Hi

Just wondered whether anyone had tried reflexology to help conception?

Thanks in advance

Yes I did. And would recommend it. Time it so you go when you are ovulating. I got twins.
Of course I have no way of knowing if it did help but after a long history of 5 miscarriages, I do put it down to the reflexology. It will take more than one treatment. And it is lovely.
Last thing, you will need to find a therapist who specialises in fertility and maternity reflexology. Good luck.

I'm about to start fertility reflexology; hopefully it will work as no.2 is proving v elusive and we conceived no.1 without any problems.

Its very relaxing so give it a bash- you need to time it to be a bit before ovulation for it to work (I think). May be bollocks but after trying for well over a year I conceived a couple of days after a treatment.

did nothing for me!

I have a friend who swears by it though...

Interesting, I was going to ask this question! The scientist in me doesn't want to believe it works but so many people seem to swear by it... potentially I'm just clutching at straws!

Many thanks I'm the same as you RPopz, scientific brain and a bit sceptical. One of the ladies I met recently swore by it.
I may investigate further.

I found it was a lovey relaxing foot massage! Smile

I don't personally think foot rubbing will make any difference to fertility though Hmm

Studies show no effect. Saying that, I did start massaging my own feet to stimulate ovulation. Don't know if it did anything though, although it was a good cycle (I have PCOS) it could have been a coincidence.

I also went to get it once and she felt I had sinus issues, even though I hadn't mentioned it. So I would say, don't completely discount it, but don't get your hopes up! Just go for it and see how it feels.

I must have had reflexology for fertility half a dozen times over 3 cycles. Didn't work for me. Feel a bit cheated as the reflexologist had framed magazine and newspaper articles all over her walls about all the people she helped to get pregnant.

I think luck must be a lot to do with it. When your body is ready (whatever that means) it will happen when it happens, regardless of what alternative therapies you try. I think it's mostly coincidence when people attribute a bfp to a particular thing...and I swear I am not a scientific skeptic (I've had the lot - acupuncture, herbs, reflexology...even mayan abdominal massage)!

Yes, been ttc #1 a heck of a long time (2.5 years)
