Hello out there. I am new to mumsnet and have enjoyed reading some of the other conversations, so thought I could ask a question of my own.
Am on the verge of having my mirena coil removed after 4 years, ready to try for No.3. However, I have no idea if we'll have to wait before we start trying or how long it will take for my fertility/cycle to return to normal. Anyone out there able to help?

I don't have any answers but just thought I would say hello and welcome and bump your question up for you, there will be someone who can answer it, but it tends to be pretty quiet at weekends

I am not as knowledgeable as some lady's in here, but the one thing I can say is Ovulation test are the way to go, and you will get loads of support in here too!

If you've had two babies your fertility is fine. Just do what you have to do and I bet you get pregnant straight away. Some people have had babies while actually using that coil!!

Hi
I had a Mirena inserted shortly after my second daughter was born 9 years ago and replaced 4 years ago. I had it removed in June and my GP said it would take a couple of months for my body to return to normal and be able to conceive. I didn't have an AF the entire time I had a coil.
Three weeks after it was removed I had a very light AF, more like spotting, just needed a pantliner. 27 days after that I had my first proper AF. I am sure I am ovulating because of sharp pains in my lower stomach on days 14 and 15 of the last two months so everything appears to be back to normal. I waited until my first AF before TTC because I wanted to start on a clean cycle so I could work out what was going on.
One thing I have noticed is that I produced gallons of CM while I had my coil and that has dried up considerably, so I would be interested to know if anyone else has found that.
Good luck.
