Anyone want to join me?

I'm 36 yo, ttc #1 and very excited about it. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time but it took me a while to find mr right!

l know I am no spring chick so I have some anxieties around that but I am trying to do everything right (eating well, exercising, cutting out alcohol/caffeine etc) and I want to start off optimistic smile am a seasoned pessimist/worrier!

Have been tracking my cycle for a good while. My periods are pretty regular and I thought I could feel my ovary twinging (strongly) when it wad supposed to. This has synched with positive opks so I guess I will soon be starting my first 2ww.

Oh exciting!! smile I'm just coming to the end of my first tww, but I don't think we've been lucky this time. Still early days, like you I am a worrier. smile

I'm in a similar position, my cycles have always been regular until I took folic acid - which had lengthened them.

Have you started taking anything yet?

Good luck!

Hi MrsG.

Why do you think you haven't been lucky this time? Can you feel AF on its way? Fingers X for you!

Yeah I started taking pre - pregnancy vits a few months ago. DP is nine years younger than meoso I'm hoping his youthful virility compensates for my age grin

Hello! Would be nice to join you both smile

First month of ttc too. My cycles have never been that regular, but luckily in the last 6 months or so they have settled down. AF due around 23rd, so got fingers crossed, but just going to wait and see. Apart from taking folic acid and vit D and following healthy lifestyle, not doing anything else rather than dtd lots.

Hoping it will be a good first month for us all smile

Hi baking, welcome smile and best of luck for this month.

My AF due 28th.

I like the idea of a December baby (I was one). Won't build my hopes up too much though smile

Hello, here's another first time TTC newbie!

Made the decision to start trying about a week ago, and am already obsessed hmm

Hi Chaircat

I think it's part of the deal that we obsess at first smile

Good luck!!

bakingmad83 Sun 16-Mar-14 12:45:32

Thank you smile I hadn't thought of that. I know some people don't like the idea of an August baby either, worrying they will be behind their classmates when they first start school, but a baby whenever they are born would be perfect.

bakingmad83 Sun 16-Mar-14 12:48:18

Hi Chaircat

I promised I wouldn't symptom spot or anything like that, but I've already broken that one! Best of luck smile

I know Baking but I wouldn't halt ttc to avoid that. Will just make DC do extra homework instead wink

I have this romantic notion of having a December baby then arriving home to my nice fire/Xmas decs with snuggly baby then pushing a chubby six month old round the park in the sun grin

Sounds like a lovely vision patience and probably more comfortable to be in the later stages of pregnancy in winter than the height of summer if it's hot.

Hi everyone! Just started ttc too (just last night!)
AF due at the end of the month... so nervous and excited!
It's taken a while to get DP on board, so I really hope all goes smoothly.
Good luck everyone!

Yeah baking I think so. The only problem with ttc now for me is if I do conceive quickly my hayfever will be a bugger to contend with without my usual meds!

Hi MsFB! Welcome and good luck smile

bakingmad83 Sun 16-Mar-14 14:01:55

I know someone whose allergies were a lot better with pregnancy, so you might be lucky too patience.

Fingers crossed for you MsFB!

Here's hoping!

What do all these other abbreviations mean?

There's an acronyms page somewhere. V useful for new mn'ers (mumsnetters) smile

It's one of the top links in talk from the desktop site...
