Hi all.

Can't believe I am in the 2ww already. I have a 32 day cycle with ov on day 20. TMI but had cervical biopsy last week and cauterisation. Told to abstain from shennanigans for 7 days. 5 days in and day 16 noticed ewcm tinged with blood and put it down to proceedure. However something made me do opk which was clearly positive on cd 17. Was in shock and DTD twice xmas day (walk in wardrobes are very convenient when 10 relatives in the house) same on boxing day. So in 2ww 3 days earlier than expected. Will of course be symptom spotting like mad, denying that I am symptom spotting, and reading everything into every twinge etc and I am a POAS addict. Roll on the new year and our bfps. Am 42 so chances of conceiving slim but am giving it a shot.

Hi! I conceived first month of trying at 42 - so remain positive it can happen. I am now 44 and on the 2ww having just started ttc no 3 so we can wait it out together Smile

hi mattsmama

welcome to the 2ww. This is #3 for me two. Got pregnant very easily previously and thought we were done until I had an unexpected pregnancy and subsequent mmc in september which made us reassess matters. As this is #3 for you do you have twins or a short space between two. When are you testing?

Hi - my eldest is 7 and youngest two - longer age gap than I would have probably liked due to being quite poorly after first pregnancy due to under active thyroid so I kept putting off # 2. Then when I felt well enough to try again had mcs. Anyway for my last pregnancy I was on steroids because of the thyroid problem and I also have high killer cells.

Having said all that the age gap has worked out quite nicely so it doesn't bother me. Smile

I have been obsessing over every little symptom even though I promised myself I would not and have a POAS obsession! Already tested - far too early with negative results of course but I will try and hold off now till Tuesday and I will be using first response. When will you be testing - hope you have more willpower than I do.

Hi, not convi ced I am waiting to test. But can I just say I bow to your superior opportunity finding skills (walk-in wardrobe).

I willl also be testing next Tuesday. I am dpo roughly and very dizzy today and tired. Not that I am symptom spotting!!!! I have a party next Saturday so will poas even though they are internet cheapies and nothing will show. Ooh maybe yoy meant u were testing yesterday. Let me know. Got pregnant very easily on dc1_nd dc2 but I was in my 30s then and knew nothing about ovulation or timing. The ignorance was bliss and now I am obsessing.

Can I join you, we are also ttc #3 I fell pregnant this time last year but had a MMC last Feb, day 27 is next Tuesday so I think testing from then is ok with a first response, no real symptoms to report; hungry and tired but that seems to be normal for me?

This is the third cycle we have been trying although first month we have 'focused fully for longer' iyswim!

I also have an under active thyroid so that worries me a bit...

I'm 40 and trying for #4 after a significant gap! Feel like a first timer lol!

ps - scuse the ignorance - what is 2ww?? I need a bigger acronym list!

Two week wait, the gap between ovulation and your period starting - although if I don't fall pregnant this month I am going to make this a one week wait and carry on 'trying' rather than stopping and waiting!

I'd really like some company as I've accidentally found myself in a 2ww after a drunken Boxing Day shag. DH and I aren't ttc but I keep track of my cycles using an iPhone app so I know roughly when to expect AF. Turns out Boxing Day was my most fertile day. If I am pg it will be number 2 for us. I've got very tingly and painful boobs but I know that doesn't mean much. It took as 13 months and a CBFM to conceive DD so I can't really believe that one bonk could be enough tbh, doesn't stop me wondering though!

Hi ladies - AF arrived this morning - 4 days early which is very unusual for me. Very disappointed - sounds daft but I did feel pregnant up to a point and then not - does that make sense? Maybe I was trying to convince myself. It was only first real month of trying so must now look forward to next cycle. Wishing you all oodles of luck - might hang around a bit if that's ok? xx

Oh mattsmama I am sorry, :( do you normally have regular cycles? Strangely before my two children I had regular 35 day cycles and ovulated at day 21 since the MC (which may or may not be related) I have 26 to 31 day cycles, so feel like this trying is a bit hit and miss. I have nt used ovulation sticks before, so that may be next months project.

I cannot recommend clear blue fertility monitors highly enough, it was the best £100 I ever spent because you know exactly which day/two days is going to give you the best chance. Daily POAS and cycle charting does make the whole thing feel more clinical though. It depends how long you've been trying really, it has been a year for us so we were getting really fed up with ttc.

Hi Winter - thanks and yes cycles always regular so it's a bit odd. Trying not to get too down as it was first cycle. Hi Golden - I use the clear blue digital ovulation and will keep doing so too. Even though I am pretty sure when ovulating as I get ovarian pain etc it makes absolutely certain of when your fertile time is. Onwards and upwards to the next cycle!! Fingers crossed for you ladies xx

Good luck for next time mattsmama, keeping everything crossed you get your bfp.

As for symptoms I've absolutely convinced myself I'm pg which is ridiculous given we only did it once and had such a hard time conceiving first time round. My boobs seem a lot more painful than they usually do in the run up to AF, I've had odd cramping sensations and feel bloated. I keep telling myself to stop obsessing but I can't get it out of my head. I hate the 2ww so much! Today is roughly 10dpo so I'll be looking for spotting as I had implantation bleeding with DD. Hope the rest of you are handling things better than me!

winterblue - I am also ttc no 3 on cycle 3 and the first cycle of actually dtd more than once or twice!

I was so definitely going to avoid symptom spotting but... I have a sore throat, possible sinus infection resulting in very sore teeth, some cramps and am very flatulent. If Im not pregnant then Im an utter mess :)

Not totally sure when I ov'd but due on Tuesday if all normal or Thurs if late like last month.

Fingers crossed for all. I bloody hate ttc!

Hi Girls,

After starting the thread I haven't exactly been the best poster here.

Matts mama I am sorry that the old hag got you. Hopefully next month will be your month.

Welcome to the other ladies. I too am testing next Tuesday and am symptom spotting like mad. I don't know when I ovulated so am either 8 or 9 dpo. I had a positive opk on cd15 where test and control line were same colour. But on cd 16 the test line was so much darker than the control line. I have been super tired(nothing to do with all the late nights over xmas of course) and very gassy. Have also had a few dizzy spells. I had a dream last night that a hpt was positive so did one this am and of course it was negative. What did I expect at 8/9 dpo!! Got progesterone results back a few weeks ago and they were low. I had told doctor I had longer cycle and that I had literally just oed. Anyway got repeat done yesterday. Have been self medicating with vitamin c, b6 and b12. I'm like a walking chemist.

Orange when I got my pregnant the last time it was sinuses that tipped me off.

Anyone ever use the one step pregnancy tests?

I feel like a bit of a fraud, but I'd like to join you anyway. I'm technically on my 2ww, although I think I dtd too late in the month, and I'm not even sure I'm ovulating thanks to the wonders of PCOS...

Even though I'm fairly certain I'm not pregnant, I'm still symptom-spotting like a woman possessed.

AF is due on the 10th, so I'm probably on CD21ish (my spreadsheet's at home so I can't tell for definite) and for two days now I've been ridiculously tired all the time. I put the 1st Jan down to a late night the day before, but yesterday was just as hard to stay awake through. I have very slight queasiness after eating. I have a headache and a sore throat. I've also had what seems like more EWCM than usual; as in it's normally done by now.

In all likeliness I'm probably just coming down with a cold or something, but there's a teeny tiny glimmer of hope that it might be something more.

Now you have me excited boo! I have a couple of early detection tests, trying to resist until Monday am FMU... They are 'Fertility woman' or something like that, from amazon and prime eligible. Came with an FSH test for days 3-5. i like POAS ing so it made me happy..!

My ov doubt is also due to opk weirdness - fertile cm 10-13 then pos opks 13-16. 13 and 14 were the same colour as line and 15 and 16 lots darker. I think tesco opks are so sensitive they are dangerous.

Symptom spotting is so hard not to do, as we have all just proved!

Hi frettchen. The main 3 things that tipped me off the last time was extreme tiredness for no reason, stuffed nose and sore nipples. Since the mmc my nipples are always sore from ov to af, for first time ever in my life so I now have to discount that sign. I am also very flatulent and bloated and suffering from light headedness. Naturally I am reading into everything and this coupled with my addiction to poas means I will be very busy over the next week. Think AF due Tuesday but as I oved early this month I am not sure of my luteal phase has lengthened. It is normally 12 so that is what I am sticking with.

Although symptom spotting is headwrecking it does pass the 2 weeks, albeit slowly.

Exciting to read everyone's updates, I have just been googling 'how early can you test?' I am tempted to buy a test today and do it in the morning. I have symptoms such sore boobs to touch but had this last month!?! I feel a bit sicky and a bit tired...but I probably feel these things most months without normally noticing.

I was spoilt with first two dc I can pinpoint the date they were made!

This time feels harder already!
