Does anyone know how long it takes to actually conceive?
I mean how long does it take for the sperm to meet the egg then do what it does.Is it days?
Hope someone understands what Im on about.

the earliest tests you can buy off the internet allege + tests as early as 6 days past ovulation, this is rare, it is usually at least 10 days past before and most people do not test + until 12-14 days after ovualtion which on average is when your period would arrive

The first day of my last period was 9th June.I had sex only once as dont do it that often on the 15th!!
Im sure its not possible for me to be pregnant but with ds I had a really strong metallic taste in mouth and at the time had no idea what it was.
I have it very strong now.Is this poss?
What do you think?I also went off tea aand dont happened to of fancied one all day.
I also got very snuggly in the evenings last time and thats how I felt last night???????

If your period lasted 5 days (taking average here)
9/10/11/12/13 June

on the 15th (cycle day 7) in almost any cycle you should be technically safe however...
sperm can live for 3-5 days in the right environment so if you ovulated (again on an average here) on day 14 of your cycle you would be approaching ovulation about now.
So unless you have a really short cycle you should be ok.
But hey you never know

im feeling exactly the same ...but different symptoms...only a large part of me thinks im just premenstrual and 'making it up'

err i posted ''how soon can you do a preg test''last night...so you could read what those posters said too...soemone said they got a positive 11 days after they had sex.

I actually really want to be pregnant.This taste is so strong.
I stopped taking the pill on the 4th.My periods last 3-4 days.
I have a confession to make I actually did a test this morning.It was neg.
It was a twin pack.When shall I do the other one so its more accurate?

hi - twas me that got a +ive at 11dpo. i'm afraid that - unless you ovulate very early on in your cycle, it's unlikely that you are pg. have you any idea how long your cycles usually are?

mum2oliver. I fell pregant a year ago exactly. Period finished on the 5th june. nookied every 2 nights till the 15th (clinical i knowtested a week before my next period and had faint lines. Same happend with ds1 though not planned just felt weird. With ds1 showed + on a test that was 4 years out of date!!. As for your question re sperm. Sperm can live for up to 72 hours. how long it takes to get to the egg depends where it is in the fallopian tubes Good Luck HTH

I used the Early Response test 5 days before my period (even though it says test from 4 days before) and it came up positive

I fell PG this time on day 8 or 9 of my cycle.
Tested on the day it was due and it was +ve instantly.

I'm sure had I tested 3..4...5 days earlier it would have given be a +ve result beause the result was so strong so quickly.
