Ooh last post on this thread. Ill reset one up if that's ok? Same title?

wishwash Thu 26-Sep-13 23:04:51

Hey! Before I get stuck into posting should we start another Fred? Who's gonna do it? smile

nobeer Thu 26-Sep-13 22:23:40

grin You BESH lot shound brilliant!

MyNameisBuggerlugsAndIAmABESH Thu 26-Sep-13 22:03:42

Brooker you described the BESH perfectly. We drink gin, swear a lot, twirl nipple tassles for bfps and cannot stand baby dust and other vom inducing twee crap.

chocolocodowninacapulco Thu 26-Sep-13 22:02:26

Meant scan and not cycle obviously!

MyNameisBuggerlugsAndIAmABESH Thu 26-Sep-13 22:01:40

Gosh nobeer what a head fuck of a journey you've had. Fingers crossed the next go is successful. I don't really know much about the screening and I should probably look into it since we'll be paying so much for it! Thanks for the intro.

chocolocodowninacapulco Thu 26-Sep-13 22:01:13

Just saying hello to everyone, work has been mad so no time to post! I've been reading and lurking, hello to the newbies! Hope to catch up at the weekend on the new thread. Back to London on Saturday for the 2nd cycle ofthe mock cycle - been on donor egg waiting list for just 4 weeks nearly and impatient, so can only begin to imagine how you feel res

nobeer Thu 26-Sep-13 21:55:48

Bugger I'm nobeer, 41 TTC since 2 and a bit years ago. Was told we'd have to do IVF due to age and damage done by Stevens Johnson Syndrome. Did IVF in July but had all embryos frozen cos of OHSS risks. Had 2FET in August but didn't implant. Trying again in November. They're going to take all the frosties to 5 day blasto, and they recommended genetically testing them. I want to read a bit more about stuff as I'm wondering if I need to be tested for immunity issues. I love this thread, the people here are great!

BrookerC Thu 26-Sep-13 21:24:43

Welcome talulah & rabbit Hoping that all you lovely newbies bring us some good luck. We are desperately in need of some bfp action in here!
Stars from my limited knowledge the BESH are Barren, evil, selfish hags <who like lots of gin> I can't actually think why I have never joined them because that describes me to a tee wink
Evening ladies. Just popping in to say hello <waves> & that I am enjoying the positivity on here at the mo-very inspiring!
Nothing to report from me - yawn...

IWantOneNow Thu 26-Sep-13 21:00:42

Thanks stars. Now I understand x

starsandmoonandback Thu 26-Sep-13 20:19:49

Thanks drizzle! I liked the ..andstuff bit wink

Bugs, what is the BESH thread?

Iwant, this explains what a missed miscarriage is http://www.babycentre.co.uk/x1014493/what-is-a-missed-miscarriage

MyNameisBuggerlugsAndIAmABESH Thu 26-Sep-13 19:54:59

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Would it be possible to have a bit of a roll call to help me remember who's who?

I'll start - I'm Buggerlugs/bugger/bugs/lugs. I'm 31 and my DH (also known as GP on the BESH thread) is also 31. We've been ttc since January 2011 and in that time I've had 2 mc's and 1 cp. We've had all the tests and apart from having polycystic ovaries (not PCOS) There is nothing 'wrong' with either of us. I've had 6 months of clomid which resulted in the cp but nothing else and were placed onto the NHS IVF waiting list in July. We will be starting treatment in Dec or Jan depending when my period arrives. Our consultant has recommended embryo testing so we're having to pay £2800 towards the treatment ourselves (ouch!) I've only really been on the BESH thread but recognise a few names on here, sadly.

talulahbelle Thu 26-Sep-13 18:20:03

Second friend just announced her second pregnancy via text. I'm happy for her but it's very bittersweet.
When will it be my turn? Really want a hug from my DH but I'm away with work tonight too sad

IWantOneNow Thu 26-Sep-13 18:17:41

Hi all. Sorry to hear of ur bad times rabbit hope that ur next cycle is positive for u. I too have low FSH and blood count so we will be in it together smile.

Can I a question: what is the difference between a miscarriage and a missed miscarriage?

Waves to all. X

lovesLemonDrizzleCake Thu 26-Sep-13 17:50:42

Waves at the rest of you, massively busy day at work, a bit of spotting and a weeping lemon in my appraisal. All finished now, am taking it easy tomorrow!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake Thu 26-Sep-13 17:48:58

Hi Rabbit smile welcome here. Despite being bad on hormones, the injections were fine! Not stingy except cheapo trigger. You can do it! I'll probably be more on The Other Thread, as I won't be cycling but ready to hold hands there or here!

Sorry about 6blast failures! I hope the tests throw up a fixable issue, starsnstuff!

starsandmoonandback Thu 26-Sep-13 17:45:24

Rabbit, are you asking about the ivf drugs or clexane? I've never done clexane but have heard its a big needle! So the ivf injections will be a doddle for you, if used to clexane ones grin I've always injected in my thighs tho, rather than tummy. Although I know lots use their tummy.

resipsa Thu 26-Sep-13 16:59:39

Hi rabbit. Sorry, not nice but true, Clexane just stings but it's short-lived pain wink

rabbitonthemoon Thu 26-Sep-13 13:27:51

Thanks you - I have just realised after glooming about how unlikely it is that I will have a biological child that I am going to have to have injections in my stomach. The clexane ones I had last year stung like a bastard. Do they sting? Can you do it wrong?

nobeer Thu 26-Sep-13 13:16:12

Welcome rabbit! Good luck, hope things go well when you start next month.

starsandmoonandback Thu 26-Sep-13 13:09:12

Hi Rabbit, welcome smile

Sounds like you've been through a fair amount of crap up to this point, so glad you've hopped on board this Fred. I'm always amazed at how thoughtful and lovely consultants can be when imparting certain information to their patients! Unbelievable! Wishing you lots of luck of getting a few good eggs and making it all the way to the 2ww, if not to that BFP grin

rabbitonthemoon Thu 26-Sep-13 13:02:54

I think it is time for me to join this thread, I have been lurking for a bit now. I am due to start ivf in a months time having aggressive short protocol due to dismal antral follicle count. I found that out on Monday though have long suspected that was the problem as my fsh ranges from 9.5-10. It has come as a horrible shock to realise just how bad it is though. I am 36 and have been ttc for 2 years and 10 months. It has not been a lot of fun, with major surgery thrown in for laughs. The cons said there was little point testing my AMH as it would undoubtedly be very low. Which was cheering hmm I have been warned that chances of getting to egg collection are rather slim so support on this would be much appreciated.

starsandmoonandback Thu 26-Sep-13 12:18:18

*over-active thyroid, not under-active! DOH!

starsandmoonandback Thu 26-Sep-13 11:23:37

Hello everyone,

Sorry for my lack of posting lately, its partly because if havent had loads to say, so i have been lurking, but reading and thinking of you all. But also, my iphone was vomited on (nice!) and died, so i was without it for a while...felt like i lost an arm! So sad i know! wink

I'm not sure i can catch up with everyone since i was last on, but ill have a wee like through the last few posts.

nobeer, how ya doing hun? Exciting that you have an FET planned, as well as a new flat to move into. I am also picturing you preggars and serene in your new place smile Maybe thats the visualisation you should be doing :D

Tallulleh, absolutely loving the positivity..we need some on this thread as a few of us are struggling at the moment. Good lcuk and i eagerly await your (earlier) announcement (on here i mean!) smile

Bugger, hello ;) nice to meet you. November is just around the corner woohoo!

Res, blimey, cant believe you are STILL waiting for the call...how can they seriously advertise a 'no wait' list!!?? I really really really hope you get the call very soon hun. Sorry for all the pregnancy 'news' surrounding you, it sometimes feels like we are magnets to pregnancy and baby stuff, doesnt it?! (((hugs)))

Hi Brooker, where are you at honey? I have a goldfish memory, sorry blush

Drizzle, how are you doing?

Twinks, you ok?

MaryP, glad you are feeling more positive and thinking good thoughts about your FET to come. FET has good success rates nowadays, dunno what your woman is saying! The reality is that lots of blastocysts that arent top notch make babies plenty of times, im annoyed at her for being so negative when you don;t need that and frankly, it is not set in stone. stupid woman! angry I never think quoting statistics to patients is of use most of the time, as we will either be in the numbers that it works for or we won't!! Hopefully, you will be this next time my lovely.

Pip, hows the spotting?? Hope it is the 'good' type of spotting too smile

Wish, Hope youve found your positivity hun. wishing you loads of good luck with your FET. All we can do is try and be positive and hope. Keep hoping honey, hopefully its your time.

Miss, sorry you didnt come away from your review feeling too positive hun, its hard sometimes as they just don't have the answers we want or need sometimes sad It sounds good that there are some investigations that might help add to tailoring your next cycle though and that you are happy that you will do another fresh one and leave FET for if you really need to smile

Hi to cups, iwant, Tame, Choco and anyone else i have missed out.

AFM: i have now had my review appointment and my consultant still seems positive for me using my own eggs, because of the response to drugs, getting to blastocyst, but just nothing is implanting, which is where we are not feeling so positive. he has asked me to repeat my natural killer cells blood test as this can change, so to be sure there is nothing happening here. Also u have had my thyroid tested too,a s i have previously had an under-active thyroid which luckily righted itself without drugs, after about 5 months, but i've never since been tested, despite me mentioning this at all my appointments! So, that will be a couple of weeks before i get those results. Then yday we went to London to my old clinic to see the conusltant there. My last cycle there was the one i had susepcted ectopic, which then turned out to be a missed miscarriage (blighted ovum) where i had to have medical management at 10 weeks to complete the miscarriage sad His suggestion is to have an HSG, as i have had previous extensive scarring in my uterus (from my DS labour and a bodged up emergency caesarean!) which he sorted out in 2 operations before my bfp with the miscarriage. He says, previous scarring and the missed miscarriage could have caused more scarring to occur which could be interfering with implantation, especially since ive had 6 blastocysts transferred over the last 2 cycles and not even a hint of a bfp. So, af begain this morning, so i have to ring up to book the HSG for this month. We are still undecided about where we ill cycle (old or current clinic) but info from both tests will hopefully be helpful and may help us to decide!!

Wishing us lots of positivity and BFPS in this thread...we deserve some grin

nobeer Thu 26-Sep-13 09:00:55

Morning res. What impeccable timing they all have [sceptical]. It's as if they bloody know! I'm trying hard to ignore pregnant women and new babies, and it's working so far! And I don't think I've offended anyone yet grin. I must say you're being very patient on the waiting front. Are you doing anything to distract your mind? If it's any consolation, a friend of mine has been on adoption waiting lists for much longer and has only just recently found out they've (hopefully) found a little person for her and her DH.

Hi stars

Welcome bugger! Sounds like you've been here before. Lots of luck for this time round.

Talulah the sound of your visualisation sounds just lovely! Think I'll have to try some of that myself. Not long now for you!

As for me, I'm pretty sure my spotting is AF not some kind of miracle. But have a house move and FET to look forward to in November. <visualises self in new flat pregnant and serene --desperately blocks out images of moving mayhem to new place-->
