Argh! Really don't think we're doing it enough - problem is DH works shifts and isn't a morning person - here's hoping that we're just lucky! wink

VJONES1985 Thu 29-Aug-13 21:00:49

englishteacher Are you targeting dtd around ovulation at all?

cheesysmile Thu 29-Aug-13 21:03:39

Ha ha ... VJ you can if you want but otherwise ur mouth will be just fine grin

You need a bbt (basal body temperature) one. I got mine on amazon. Just take each morning before you get out of bed / do any thing as its your resting temp after at least 3 hrs sleep.

VJONES1985 Thu 29-Aug-13 21:21:32

I see. So if I get up for a wee at, 5am and then go back to sleep and get up at 6.30, I won't be able to temp that day?

Writerwannabe83 Thu 29-Aug-13 21:26:10

Do you need a special one? (And please tell me you don't really have to stick it there..!)

OH VJ - you have just put the biggest smile on my face!!!!

PurpleGeekyGirl Thu 29-Aug-13 21:27:44

VJ I can't temp as always need a wee in the night. I use cb opks and cm. it seems to be working in terms of telling me my fertile window and over the last few months I've learned exactly when I ovulate by listening to my body too. I knew nothing when ttc my ds tho!

VJONES1985 Thu 29-Aug-13 21:57:30

Writer - Hee hee, I may be a pain but at least I'm entertaining ;)

Writerwannabe83 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:09:17

That's very true VJ grin grin

I can just imagine your thermometer sitting in your bedside draw with a bottle of sterilising lotion next to it to keep it nice and clean grin

mrsmummytobe Thu 29-Aug-13 22:09:25

Just caught up on all the chat! Good luck to all those poas tmrw!! I think it's about time we got a few more bfps smile
I can't believe we're nearly at the end of this thread & it's not even Sept yet lol grin We are definitely a load of ladies who like to talk!

Writerwannabe83 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:10:45

-- and most of what we are saying is absolutely insane -- grin

VJONES1985 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:12:15

Purple I use cm and opks as well and found them very useful last month.

VickyVix Thu 29-Aug-13 22:12:18

Just wanted to say good luck to all you ladies POAS tomorrow! Hope it's good news and we get some more BFPs to get this bus rolling smile

I am resisting temptation to POAS myself, want to wait until Wednesday but my will power is virtually zero grin ......first 2ww is going slowly

internationallove985 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:14:48

I could never be bothered with all those temping charts and everything else. I just D.T.D keep my fingers crossed and live in hope. xx

VJONES1985 Thu 29-Aug-13 22:16:12

Yes, we are all a load of loons on here!

leezl Thu 29-Aug-13 22:16:50

Ahaha sorry I missed your comments VJ! I will be using the mouth, but they do say it's most effective taken...elsewhere wink

GinandStripes Thu 29-Aug-13 22:30:21

Thanks for the nice words this morning ladies, didn't mean to splurge & run but been out all day.

It's why this forum is a godsend - so encouraging that there are other people feeling the same as you. X

CoffeeGuzzler Thu 29-Aug-13 23:21:40

Good luck to everyone poas-ing tomorrow! Bring on the bfps.

gin this forum is fantastic. Nobody who isn't going through ttc understands the lunacy of it all.

Kemie Thu 29-Aug-13 23:26:27

vicki I'll be testing with you on Wednesday, that is if the dreaded AF doesn't rear her ugly head! My OH is my self control, I'm not allowed to POAS until AF has been missed!
Will be in Cornwall with my family at that point on hols, dunno whether to pack sticks to pee on, will feel like I'm tempting fate blush will just take the period paraphernalia! Fx I won't need it

DisneyDiva87 Thu 29-Aug-13 23:33:34

Can someone create the sept bus part 2 thread and post the link to it in here? I'd do it but I'm not at a computer tomorrow and am on my phone just now.

If part 2 is already created can someone post link here to direct all our lovely lurking ladies grin

Kemie Thu 29-Aug-13 23:38:59

Thanks kemie grin

PurpleGeekyGirl Fri 30-Aug-13 10:27:18

Oh FFS. I am on cd15 and have horrible brown goo (sorry tmi) exactly the same sort I get before af. I've never had a cycle this short before, well not since my ex-h and I had the row to end all rows and I moved out. I know my cycle are erratic but to add a 15 day one in is really pissing me off. I suppose on the upside it means I can sort my day 21 bloods more quickly but when on earth do I arrange them for?!

Really totally utterly fed up confusedconfusedconfused

Mistyautumn Sun 01-Sep-13 13:59:48

Whoop, finally got a flashing smiley opk on day 20. This is brill as had a 65 day cycle last time. Poor DH gout well and truly pounced oh (unfortunately it was 5.20 am smile). Bring on the fixed smiley!

And joining in the weight loss chat.....I am doing slimming world too. Lost 1st 5.5lbs in 6 weeks (not as impressive as it sounds s am a big girl and have a lot to lose). Very impressed by their support of pregnant ladies too xx
