Strange happenings – what’s going on?

I need some advice please ladies, I don?t know what is happening and nothing seems to make sense. I?m into cycle 4 of TTC, and have a fairly regular cycle length of about 28-29 days. In cycle 3 I OV on day 14 (I used OPKs), so AF should have been due around day 28, which would have been Sunday or Monday last week. However it didn?t show up so I POAS and got BFN. I started feeling sick early last week so did an early response test on Wednesday and got a definite faint line. On Thursday I tested again first thing in the morning but was BFN, and then a few hours later AF arrived. BUT it was very very light, and only lasted about 3 days, and wasn?t like a normal period, but was more like a few clots of old brown blood rather than red blood, and hardly anything on my pad (sorry, TMI!). Now I?m feeling sick and starting to wonder whether there?s a chance I may be PG (although I know it?s highly unlikely). Also I did an OPK last night just for fun (!) and got a faint line, and I've read somewhere that OPKs can be positive when you're PG...Hmm

Also, assuming I?m not PG, when should I expect to ovulate next? Do I count from the day AF was due, or the day it actually started? I?m confused Confused

Gosh, how confusing! In my limited knowledge I would say that it sounds like you're either pregnant or you've had a chemical pregnancy. I would wait a few days and then test again. Fingers crossed! x

I think you need to take another test... try another early response one as they are the most sensitive - you're very light bleeding could have been implantation (although it sounds a bit too heavy for that).

I think its going to be pretty hard to know when best to test for ovulation if you're not PG, start counting from when AF was due just to be on the safe side and then continue till you get a positive.

You can get faint positives on OPKs throughout the month as the LH comes and goes. They're not like PG tests where any line is a positive, with OPKs the lines have to match colour to be a proper positive.

Good luck, poas and let us know how you are!

When I say light bleeding, it wasn't really actual bleeding, more like a few small brown clots. Very weird. I'm feeling quite sick now, might poas in the morning Grin

If you're still BFN it might be worth going to the Drs for a blood test for pregnancy.

That's what I was thinking, but they'll probably say wait for next period, because I might have had one last week. Will poas tomorrow anyway and see what happens Smile
