Why Can't we conceive!!!???

What's wrong with me! I've been off the pill since June last year, 1st daughter was conceived in no time at all, (we weren't "trying" per say either!). My periods are all over the shop, some months I'm having up to 44 day cycles! We're doing the do on appearance of ewcm and still nothing.....

Had an emergency c-section with DD, have they damaged me!!!!!!?????? Could the c-section have made it hard to conceive, or am I just clutching at straws???? Anyone else in a similar situ, as this is getting heartbreaking - especially when friends are falling all around me!!!!!

I was on Depo injections for about 18 months and after trying for over two years, nothing. Sad I gave up all hope. I know how disheartening it can be. I ended up on a website buying home test kits, they are much cheaper than the shops and you don't have the embarrassment of buying them!Blush We tested my hubby with a simple to use kit, once we had estabilished i was ok. His tests were good too, so we tried Pre-seed. Do a search for it on the web, we only used it for one month and our babies due in September! Read all the testimonials for it, it really does work!Grin

PocketRocketSocket (great name that!)

Secondary subfertility is not that uncommon and your situation is not that unusual. Generally speaking as well fertility declines with age.

A 44 day cycle is one in which ovulation is probably not occuring. Such problems are caused often by hormonal imbalances which can be treated; one major symptom of this is irregular periods.

Your emergency c-section would not have caused serious damage to be done but you would have some adhesions (these are scar tissue like sticky strands) as a result of any abdominal surgery. These are only really problematic when such things tether organs together.

Would suggest you seek medical advice and have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like. If your hormone levels are awry then ovulaiton is affected.

You do not say how old you are but if you have been ttc for a year and are under 35 or ttc for six months and are over 35, a referral to a gynae can be done by your GP. Gynaes usually like to see people after trying to conceive without success in the above circumstances.

I wish you well

thanks both for your help, I'll try the pre-seed! I have had first lot of bloods taken, which was done on Thursday, and they want me to go back 7 days before my next period!!!!!!! Are they insane! How am I supposed to calc that! Funnily enough, this months period arrived on 30 days, which may be an indication that I might have sorted myself out shrug...I'm under 35, but dr took pity on me and ordered the blood test anyway!

Thanks again, and good luck for September Lenaschildminding!

Pre-seed is a simple to use 'sperm friendly' lubricant. It helps you match the acidity levels of your partner so you don't 'kill him off' so to speak! More info is available if you do a search on the web.

Congratulations SLINK, it must be a huge relief. It took me 4 years to concieve first time and I was only 22 then! The second happened straight away, so be warned!!!! This is my third, it took 2+ years, I'm 25 weeks now, looking more like 35 weeks!! Suffering in this heat, but it's all worth it.Smile. Take it easy and enjoy your pregnancy, it all goes by so quick!

I have 2 DS and they were happy accidents, then we decided to try for Number3 but that was June 2005 15 months later nothing, going though all the test thing at the moment and should be going for scans and x-rays soon , to found out weather my tubes are blocked or if I have PCOS or other! I know it's really hard but the best thing you can do is carry on, let the doctors do their test's, still try for your baby and try to chill out as much as possible stress plays a big part. The last 2 months for me have been the best for me in the way of not feeling like things are getting to much, I normally cry everytime AF comes but not any more. I've not been getting as stressed out, just getting use to this charting thing, which is making me less stressed and back in control, which is where you need to be! I hope it happens for you very soon! Good luck chick
