Hi ladies, taking a break from yomping to pop in. With you all on alternately feeling excited/positive and grumping like a bear with sore ovaries. Went and pimped yesterday as now cd40 and I wanted to get squiffy thought it was a possibility. BFN sad no surprises but still spent last night crying into my pillow. Ah well, at least I got a sympathy shag this morning grin

Can't copy and paste on phone but if anyone wants to do it for me here's my entry for the berry directory!

BombasticPeanut, 31, married, TTC since May 2012, MMC in Aug, cycle anywhere between 1 week and 3 months gaaaaah AF you tricky cow. Waiting for FC appt in Aug.

Right, off to get the dog muddy. frog quietly crossing fingers for you!

Just listened to an interesting item on Woman's Hour on Radio 4 (I was still in bed!). It was about becoming a mother after the age of 40. There was a lot of quotes from women who had done this and information from a specialist. Ultimately it was a very positive item.

House move has been delayed a bit. So frustrating. I just want to go.

Right I'll update the list again as I'm on a computer and sulking at work when everyone else is off.

Oh & if anyone wants to do any ridiculously early symptom spotting with me I developed disgustingly greasy hair yesterday. I washed it yesterday morning & by yesterday evening it looked like it needed doing again. I normally only wash it every other day!

I love Radio 4 pip so I'm going with anything it says.

haycorn Wed 03-Apr-13 11:18:58

Hey berries,
Haven't posted for a while due to hellish few weeks at work, but as it is now the holidays I can hopefully let go of all that nastiness and start thinking about the important things, like why the hell hasn't my period started yet?!! <shouts and tears hair in manner of crazy woman>

How am I supposed to get upduffed when my body is steadfastly refusing to pull its weight? I am surrounded by babies at the moment, and I can't even console myself with the excitement of starting a new cycle and convincing myself that this is the one. Spring is finally springing (ever so slightly) outside, and it feels like the whole world is getting on it apart from me. Sorry for the moaning, but I am a very grumpy berry at the moment. sad

Ok, that's enough feeling sorry for myself. Please could someone cheer me up by adding me to the lovely list? (Posting from phone so a bit useless)

Haycorn, 30, married. TTC since August 2012 but efforts severely hampered by loss of AF. Has anyone seen it?

Bajas Wed 03-Apr-13 12:10:22

Hi all,

Would love to join this pavlova after a lovely invite from happylass

Am on phone so if anyone could add me that'd be great.

Bajas, age 38 (39 in July eek!). Got married July 2012 and have been trying ever since. Dreadfully irregular cycles so on cycle 7- last one was 17 days, one before was 38 so no idea when bfp could appear.

Going to test on fri before friend's 40th birthday weekend away (mainly to see if I can in good conscience have a few drinks!) but know it's probably far too early.

Frogcatcher Wed 03-Apr-13 12:46:36

Welcome bajas! Do you OPK & temp? We're all very nosy really helpful here with any chart analysis & symptom spotting!

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time haycorn. You know there is always room to let it all out over a brew & biscuit here.

In my new role today as official copier & paster of the list:

If anyone wants to waste any time/be cheered up/blub at something really cute because they're hormonal can I point you in the direction of Micro Lamb?

www.itv.com/news/2013-03-26/micro-lamb-moves-into-the-farmhouse-and-on-to-twitter/

She has her own twitter account too with pictures:

Just adorable - I want one if I can't have a baby

Bajas Wed 03-Apr-13 12:54:02

Hi frogcatcher. Thanks for the welcome and adding me to the list smile

Am not doing opks as have been told they're unreliable for irregular cycles. At the minute have been dtd every 2-3 days to try and cover all eventualities!

Have not tried temping yet- considering it for next cycle. Anyone had luck with it here?

Good luck over next couple of days with your bfp/Af so close!

Frogcatcher Wed 03-Apr-13 13:27:39

Hi bajas quite a few people on here do temp & OPK. I've started this month with mixed results. I like the fact that I can see when O was (& I got a dip before which I think I can use as my early warning system to make sure we dtd) but I never got a line that I thought was positive on the OPK. Next month I need to compare the lines & temps so I know what my positive looks like. I'm also too lazy to set alarms to wake up to temp at the same time every day so my chart is not the most accurate. I like the fact that I am actually doing something though rather than just leaving it to chance & if I do end up with the GP for onward referral I have the evidence that I am ov & cycle records for further investigation. Have you been to see your GP yet? I've heard that in some areas if you are over 35 they will refer you for further tests once you've been trying for 6 months.

happylass Australia Wed 03-Apr-13 14:26:45

Welcome Bajas!! Glad to see my recruiting paid off smile. This is the 5th cycle I've been temping and find it very reassuring just to know that I've OVd every month. I do it every morning without thinking about it. Like Frog I'm not dedicated enough to set my alarm when I'm off work but I still see a very clear pattern every month.

Bajas Wed 03-Apr-13 14:48:07

Sounds like the temping could be a good idea for peace of mind for a start off. I'm glad a slightly non regimented system works too as I don't fancy getting up at 6am on weekends and holidays!

frogcatcher had appt with doc a couple of months ago just to check in as such. He didn't suggest any tests or raise any concerns. Will prob leave it another couple of months before going back. Am trying to keep things as pressure free as possible for as long as I can get away with it but have a constant clock ticking in my head re age. Why couldn't I have met dh a few years earlier?!!!

Frogcatcher Wed 03-Apr-13 17:12:12

Arrrrrrrrrrgh! Helped an old colleague from my old office today with something today & she mailed me later to give me the news that she is expecting in September. I'm obviously happy for her but it's not helped my urge to POAS!!! FF has started me on a POAS countdown now & says I should POAS in 5 days. I didn't know it would do that & not sure I can wait that long!!!

BookTart Wed 03-Apr-13 18:16:18

Sorry all, catching up as internet connection is a bit broken on and off for some reason. Spent the day recovering from a migraine, which means that evil AF will be here in the next couple of days. Boo.

Stay strong frog although I'd POAS if I were you

Can I go on the list please? BookTart, 37, 15 cycles in, CP in October, blood test on 8th April, HSP and USS with follicular tracking the week after, AF turning up any second now.

Yay lots of berries back in business grin welcome bajas

Stay strong frog

Frogcatcher Wed 03-Apr-13 19:29:10

BFN as expected. BUT refuse to give up hope yet as early days still, it wasn't a sensitive IC & I didn't use FMU. hmm

Bunnygirlie Wed 03-Apr-13 20:05:41

Naughty frog grin

Just watching a show about the Queen, (fair play she's awesome) they started talking about the royal baby which got me all teary - what is wrong with me?!?
Then I go on facebook and all the ads are throwing it in my face - are you planing a family? 70% off kidswear, ads for prams etc GRRRRRRR angry

Cate555 Wed 03-Apr-13 20:33:01

Hi everyone, thanks for the invite HappyLass Can someone please add me to the list?
Cate 38 married, TTC #1 thought I had all the time in the world then woke up one morning aged 38 and thought oops I'd better get my skates on!

SidneyBristow Wed 03-Apr-13 20:42:19

Welcome Bajas! I'm 38 too and think the same thing about how much different things would be if I'd met my DH years ago. Life can throw us some curveballs.

Why am I crying over MicroLamb!!! What is wrong with me! He's just so tiny and cute.

Berries, i have not caught up on the last few weeks where i have been absent so apologies if i put my foot in it or am massively out of touch. Anyone gearing up for OBEM?
For my update I'm into shag week but weirdly detached... I've been feeling like it will never happen, haven't taken a single temp or peed on an OPK, last month really really really has thrown me. It feels very self indulgent, and so unlike me, but I can't seem to pull myself out of it. So who has happy stories to cheer me up??

Aargh OB is the final episode hmm

Bajas Wed 03-Apr-13 21:06:15

Thanks for such a lovely welcome everyone smile

frog sorry to hear about the bfn. Hopefully that'll change in next couple of days. Fx

sidney and cate hopefully we'll be living proof that 38 is not past it.

Will have to check out micro lamb...

Merkin, I'm the same with the lack of temping and pimping this month. But in my case I've given up hope until I get the fc appointment, at which point I'm convinced I will be given clomid without argument, which will solve my LP problem, and I will immediately become upduffed that very month. Probably with twins. If this doesn't actually happen I have no idea how I will cope with reality.
Where are you in your cycle Merk? Am I right in thinking you're somewhere around shag week? Boo for the last OBEM of the series. I've still got the sad one to watch when I get home.

I have something to make you smile, give me a minute to find the link...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5YwBMhMIns&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Well, it made me smile, but I'm a dog person smile .
