Why is getting pg so bloody complicated?
I've been thinking that surely only a man could have been responsible for developing the female reproductive system. I mean, if it was a woman, it would be as follows: have sex, sperm and egg meet pretty much straight away, egg is fertilised and then implants (again, straight away) and hey presto, you get an immediate BFP. A woman would also have arranged for there to be more than a 12 hour window each month to get pg (I think it's called multitasking)!
But no, we have to time sex (removing all the spontaneity) after religiously taking our temp, examining our CM and peeing on ovulation sticks (which cost a fortune). We then have to wait at least 2 weeks which can seem like the LONGEST 14 days ever and even then we might not get a BFP.
Having spent so many years trying (successfully) to not get pg, why can't the switch to wanting to become a mother be simpler? I have come to the conclusion that God must have been a man. No woman would ever make a process so blooming complicated and long winded!
