"Conceive Plus" Sasmar - Anyone has used it before?

Hello ladies... I was quite addicted to mumsnet last year, but after few miscarriages I decided to disconnect a bit to get some time off. Although I missed you all. DH and I are back into the business of baby making :) and we started using Conceive Plus. Has anyone used it before? Any tips? good product? Safe? Thanks!

No, but I've been using Preseed which looks like the same thing. Apologies in advance for TMI, but started using it primarily as a lubricant as when we just need to DTD for ttc purposes it's quite often a quickie and the lube replaces the foreplay! On the last couple of cycles I've been worried that I haven't had enough CEWM or it wasn't there at the right time so I have actually used the applicators as suggested. No BFP yet but I'm at the stage of trying everything... It took a few attempts to get the right amount. I think the amount they suggest was too much for me.
It should be safe given both products are marketed to the TTC population!
Good luck, hope it helps!

Hi I have been using the conceive plus applicators...as I don't have much CM and certainky not what you would describe as EWCM so I though I would give it a go. Quick to use (no faffing about with syringes - just couldn't get my head round that with pre-seed) and you can get it right up by your cervix which is where it should be and helps in the TTC journey as it is also lubricating! Mind you don't have a Bfp to show just yet so who knows whether it helps.

Yes, I used it sometimes as lube while ttc as I had heard that other lube could impede the swimmers. I didn't get a BFP with it though.

We've used conceive plus 6 months in a row. No BFP yet.

I'd be interested to know more peoples opinions on this too...

I bought some the other day from boots... but havent used it yet!
On my period at the mo but have some serious DTD plans for march! Wink

We are really hoping to conceive ASAP (like most people once they start trying!)

Not sure whether to use it or just carry on without it... we dont really NEED it (although we did used to use lube sometimes anyway so.... might as well use this instead?)

Im worried it will hinder us from conceiving even though its meant to HELP!

I conceived the first month of using it. But we also DTD loads, so it could be irrelevant! We both liked it though, so it doesn't matter. :-)

Oooh MrsBri.... I think I will do the same.. DTD lots and use it as well.. Wink

Conceived first month with it, was amazed! I'd had two lost pgs before that, plus gynae surgery and it had taken up to six months to conceive each of the list pgs so I was expecting a long road ahead.

Was flabbergasted to hit the jackpot first go Grin

Lost pgs, not list.

NB: It is a bit...um...squelchy!

LOL @ "squelchy"... Confused haha

I'm gonna give it a go! Might as well Smile

I feel really excited about this month... AF came yesterday so waiting for that to go away and then.... IM READY! Grin

Gillian, we DTD CDs 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16. OV was CD15 but couldn't DTD as we had a trip to London which meant leaving at 8 and we didn't get back til 3 the next day! Clearly didn't hurt though. :-)

Days 12-14 was always night sex with Conceive Plus.

Good luck!

Hello again, and sorry for the delay in answering. I was OV on Sunday quite officially and we planned a long Sunday indoors... :) and away from computers, tv... heheh. Anyways, thank you for all the answers, and PuffPants and MrsBri! congrats!

I thought I would OV last Wed/Thur so we have been since last Monday DTD, the ecographer who is monitoring my cycle asked me to let him rest on Fri (ahahah!) but Sat and Sun have been quite a Marathon... DH is my hero.

We have used the Conceive Plus almost every time, and it feels better -since this month I don't seem to have had plenty CEWM, and we have enjoye dthe foreplay. I even bought suspenders by first time in my life (cheapest ones at Victoria's Secret) and invented a little game of questions and answers to keep the warmth going in bed.

I also started Shiatsu with acupuncture and Maxibustion this months hoping that all will add.

let's hope that Conceive Plus works, as Gillian1986 said I was also afraid of the Conceive Plus hindering the purpose, but hopefully ... hopefully!

I think it's just a worry that you could actually do/use something that could make it HARDER! All the effort would be for nothing!

However... Surely it wouldn't be on sale and called CONCEIVE PLUS if it hindered TTC!

AHHHHH I don't know what to do.. Lol... Towards end of period now and will be ovulating next week... Got plas to dtd as much as humanly possible for the next couple weeks so... Use it or not use it?!

We've just started using it and I it was quite pleasureable really! Wink

I don't think it does hinder the swimmers and does in fact help them because to be able to get upduffed you need enough EWCM to enable the sperm to a)survive and b) make it up to the fallopian tubes. EWCM does both of these things, but if you don't make enough of it yourself, then CP should help.

I know I sound like an advert, but I am using stuff I learnt from the Toni Weschler book and applying it here. I haven't had a BFP with it yet, but am going to give it a go and see what happens.

Lots of people on here say they used it and got upduffed pretty quickly after, so fingers crossed for us all!

Oh yes and drinking lots of water can help you to improve the quality and amount of EWCM apparently.

Report
barkingtreefrog · 27/02/2013 07:50

Oo, really? I never drink enough rum water. ^^ Maybe that's why I don't get much EWCM yet another thing I need to work harder at.

Skinnywhippet · 27/02/2013 18:02

Don't use too much. Manage to squirt far too much all over the place when first used it! When it dries it looks like those face masks that body shop used to do that you peel off!

Hello Ladies!

Very interesting conversation, I am learning a lot.

Now, i just need to wait two weeks.. I think I will try to convince DH to go away next weekend in order to relax and not too think too much about Predictor tests Blush.

About drinking too much water?!!! i am doing Shiatsu with acupuncture and Maxibustion (I read it helps for conception!), and I was told that too drink too much water it does not help much the body, because when we drink way more water than needed it "occupies" space inside and our organs like the uterus that need space, and blood circulation don't work well due to drinking too much. Assumptly, improving blood circulation (and blood circulation to the uterus) also helps.

I have little EWCM as well, and I once read that eating grapefruits and other stuff helps. Here a link where it also mentions to drink water (but to what I have been told we should not drink more than what we feel we need) natural-fertility-info.com/5-natural-ways-to-increase-your-cervical-mucous.html

Well, I hope that CP will have done some magic... :) I will keep you posted!
