Hi, I have had a bit of very light spotting earlier on - about 5 and 7 weeks, but today have just gone to hr toilet and there was a decent amount of red blood when I wiped.
I know this sounds stupid but iv had a feeling from when I found out I was pregnant that something wasn't right, haven't got excited/told anyone. So if the0is is a miscarriage I wont be surprised but I just want t know do I have to go he docs/hospital to get it all confirmed or do I assume the worst and stay at home? Is there anything about afterwards that I have to get checked medically?
I realise tha this post sounds horribly heartless, and I'm sure once it's sunk in il be upset but at the minute it's just what I was expecting.

hi, ive had bleeding in pregnancy, and was told at the hospital theres still a 50% chance of the pregnancy continuing.
so your still in with a chance, i wish you the best of luck.

i guess whever you decide to go to the hospitl for a scan would depend on if you would prefer to know.
sometimes even they cant tell you
but at 9 weeks they should be able to scan you and see if there is a heartbeat or not

i am so sorry your going through this op

are you in any pain?

I would see an emergency gp today and get an appointment at the nearest early pregnancy unit for Monday. If they scan you at least you will know what is happening. if it gets worse there is a good thread about practicalities on the mc pages.

Having said that lots of people here seem to bleed lots and the baby is fine. hope all goes well.

You should call your community midwife for advice... They'll probably book you into the EPU for a scan and/or blood test. Do you have any pain at all?

I bled throughout the first 16 weeks of pregnancy... Not spotting, heavy bleeding. It's terrifying so you have my thoughts and well wishes. Mine worked out okay and I'm sat next to my almost 3 year old now. They never got to the bottom of why I was bleeding, but could see where I was bleeding from on the scan.

Thanks all, I am not in any pain that's why I'm wondering if it's worth calling them. I had heavy bleeding at 14 weeks with my first an all worked out fine, think I just have it in my head that this pregnancy is not going to work out. I might just call and see what they say

Hi, You might find some more answers on the Pregnancy board. Some people here already have children so have some experience but many of us are ttc our first.

Thanks for all your help. Called the out of hours and they just said to wait it out and see what happens. Got the GP on Wed so will just mention it then.

Like Euro said, most of us probably wouldn't really know on this board (given that we've yet to conceive)but I'd definitely call your GP first thing if I were in your position. Really hope everything is ok x

Christine - I would ask for an early scan to tell you one way or another. I mc'd my first one at 7 weeks, but didn't bleed much and only found out at the 12 weeks scan...really crappy. I hope it's OK for you x

Hi have you been seen by a midwife or a GP yet? FWIW I listened to my midwife on my mc last month and went to the A&E. (It was a Sunday). It's a complete waste of time as they confirmed the mc with a urine test. So you can save yourself sometime and poas. By 9 weeks, your hcg should be high enough to be picked up by any pregnancy test. If you are still pregnant then definitely contact your midwife or GP to get referred to a EPU. Otherwise A&E told me that it will just be a heavy period. If the bleeding continues, then contact my midwife again. By the way, mine didn't hurt at all.

All the best and hope your LO is still safe in the oven.
