Am I deluding myself that I even have a chance?
I've always had a shorter than most luteal phase - was 11 days all through 5 years of TTC inc 2 miscarriages and DD.
I'm still breastfeeding 19 month old DD all night (and days when I'm not at work) at LEAST every 4 hours still.... she eats loads too before people jump on me for that.
So - anyone got pregnant with a 7 day luteal phase? (I'm 39 too, so time is ticking...)
I got pregnant with a 9 day literal phase, not sure about shorter than that but didn't want you to go unanswered. If you are TTC is it worth trying to limit the amount that your DD feeds, not jumping on you at all but obviously you may need to decide where your priorities are at present particularly due to your age.
I know when I was breastfeeding it really affected my cervical mucus, so some conceive plus or pre seed lube might make a difference?
Another breastfeeder with a short LP here.
With 7 days, I think you're chances are miniscule. Sorry.
9 days is unlikely but not unheard of apparently.
Is your LP regularly only 7 days or does it vary? How long has AF been back.
You should come and join us on the TTC while Bfeeding thread. Luteal Phase Defect seems to be a common theme over there. Vit B6 is the recommended remedy.
Thanks for the responses.
Well either my luteal phase has just altered, or I'm pregnant! 9DPO, BFN but not AF either
I got pregnant on 9-10 day lutheal phase. Wasn't breastfeeding, stopped 3 months before that. Dropping night feeds usually have big impact on LP length. And there are herbs that can help with the cycle and vitamin B can help as well.
I hope you're pregnant! Please keep us updated. Am very interested in success stories with a short LP.
If not, please do come and join us on before mentioned thread. The current one is almost full and is quiet at times so I hope the next one will be more busy with many BFPs.
Thanks!
and still no AF or cramping...
To answer previous questions - I've had 3 cycles since getting my periods back at 15 months, and they have all been a bit long, and consistent 7 day luteal phase.
When are you going to test?
I tested this morning - and no surprise BFN, so I'll test again in the morning. I have some internet cheapies - but it is still early - will only be 9DPO so I'll be surprised if I get a result!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you
So no AF, temps going back up .....and....
Clearblue had a faint but definite line, while 10miu ultra internet cheapie said BFN.
So the jury's out (as I don't trust clearblue as they have given me evaporation lines before but they were all the chemist had in).
Test again tomorrow!
oh and it's 10 DPO today not 9 - I can't count!
Eee! Congratulations!!!!! Sure sound positive to me!
Eeeeek! Watching excitedly. Sounds positive to me. Perhaps get a digital test?
Bought a Tesco own brand this afternoon as I remember them giving a positive before the internet supposedly sensitive cheapies last time...
...and....
A line! Faint, but a line
But now this evening I've just noticed some pink red spotting
No cramps yet though so I'm keeping positive...
Oh, keeping fingers crossed for you but congratulations for now!!!
No more spotting. Faint but clear line on Tescos own brand, and faint line, but after the time allowed on 10miu internet cheapies
And I've done my bloody back in just leaning over. Not helped by DD being on perma-latch all night as she's starting yet another cough/cold.... ah well
Glad to hear the spotting has stopped. Still keeping everything crossed for you.
You'll be my inspiration. DD (1) is also and all-night-feeder and last cycle my LP was only 5 days. Currently on day 4 or 5 with B6. Hope it'll improve things.
I must admit I made a point of eating rather a lot of marmite this month (rather than take B6 supplements) so that may have helped. Along with identifying that the best indicator for impending ovulation for me was incredibly painful nipples on latching/unlatching - and then we DTD every other day as I'm too knackered for every day!
