Put on your vest/shades and grab your weapons, it's Action Hero Time.

The BESH are experts in all matters action, but specialise in taking out the local droids and sometimes Druids wink

Oh dear Frank grin

Jeffers, it was before the war when Lebanon was a luffly place.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sat 09-Feb-13 22:18:11

I thought you'd appreciate my lack of sea legs Rie grin

<landlubber>

EuroShagmore Sat 09-Feb-13 22:21:38

frank I'm also terrible on boats <recalls dive boat multiple chunder incident from December holiday; poor feeshes having to dine on that>

I used to get pukey on anything that moved. These days I am largely fine on planes barring one horrific landing in Dublin in strong winds a couple of years ago when everyone stepped off the plane looking actually green and trains - I can read and everyfink - but not so good in cars (unless driving) or on boats.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid Sat 09-Feb-13 23:06:41

Will I watch Knocked Up? <ponders>

evilgiraffe Sat 09-Feb-13 23:27:38

Thanks for hugs and fish, guys smile We've been out for dinner with friends, men are great as they go "ooo new baby news" and then talk about other things, hurrah.

ItsMutinyOnTheBunty Sun 10-Feb-13 08:37:07

Step away from Knocked Up - a bizarre film at the best of times and all about instadiffers.

I have always pushed to purchase dolphin friendly tuna but watched Hugh's fish fight where they traced back from tin to boat to find half of them were lying anyway confused

I have come away to catch up with my friends my 6th form. Tis luffly. Did have random memory of being in same pub as two years ago, crying in the loo because I guessed one friend was diffed after about four months TTC. Her baybee boy is now 18 months old. Was reminded about that by a comment above too. I guess I am just grateful for what I do have.

Rie I have the same mindset as you - we never do things by halves - health problems mean we're both under consultants, I've been admitted twice in the last year, house caught fire etc. never do things the easy way in our house! Try to hold on to the hope that things will turn around. I am actually having a fairly easy pregnancy cept the little monkey went really ruddy quiet yesterday when I am two hours from home! Curry was the only thing that really got her moving smile

ItsMutinyOnTheBunty Sun 10-Feb-13 08:37:44

(Oh it's Faith with a random NC by the way! I might change it back yet!)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake Sun 10-Feb-13 08:53:22

grin at frank being a bit of an Anne wrt travel. I am of the euro-level I think. Just boats and cars if not driving. Although crazy buses through Indian mountains have been known to make me vom...

Also despite it being v serious, the chat on dolphin-murdereress has made me smile. Also frankly, tinned tuna tastes like cat food. If you have to have tuna, have a line-caught steak, HMMM.

Right, I was working. But not all of today! I am off to enjoy the sun soon!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake Sun 10-Feb-13 08:54:01

Didn't recognise you faif. Not sure whether I like it, it's so different... (and I am MN's most conservative name changer ever).

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sun 10-Feb-13 09:33:00

Oi I'm not a total wuss when travelling! I'm fine in cars (reading makes me feel sick though!) and on trains, providing I'm facing the direction of travel <denial>

I think I'm just very attached to good ol' Great Britain wink

ArielThePiraticalMermaid Sun 10-Feb-13 10:22:44

I was about to shout WHO IS THIS IMPOSTOR WHO TREATS ME SO FAMILIARLY??? Glad *Faif put the second post up!

Re: the fish, I've found that to be sure, it's best not to eat any unless it's stuff I or someone I know has caught themselves. Something I appreciate isn't practical for everyone....

Knocked Up was unutterably bizarre. But I did watch it all.

Northey Sun 10-Feb-13 10:33:41

Well, I suppose we all got used to phoenixfromtheflames. <dubious but willing> Still, if aries accepts it smile

Is it sunny where you are, lemonista? It's pouring here.

evilgiraffe Sun 10-Feb-13 10:50:16

Temp has spiked again, presumably related to the fact that I feel like death warmed up, headachey and sore throat etc. Also, droid has arrived, the bastard. It's not exactly unexpected, but I am raging and teary anyway.

IT'S NOT FAIR angry

ArielThePiraticalMermaid Sun 10-Feb-13 11:13:23

At the risk of sounding like I'm trying to be clever, that's one of the reasons I decided not to temp, draf apart from being too lazy anyway. The whole thing is already too much of a headfuck, so looking at temps on a graph would actually send me round the bend.

sad though, you poor thing. Have a hot toddy and a duvet day <hairstrokes>

evilgiraffe Sun 10-Feb-13 11:22:17

Generally I find temping to be the opposite of a headfuck, rie, as it makes me feel that I can do something rather than be completely helpless. It's just when it does something out of the ordinary that I get confused - but it doesn't do it all that often, at least.

I am curled up on the sofa with tea and a fic to preread for a friend, it's all quite cosy. And England play Ireland this afternoon too, which is always a good thing smile

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn Sun 10-Feb-13 11:22:23

Sorry evil sad <throws droid in a bag, chucks in a hand grenade & tosses out of window>

Temping has its good and bad points, but I'm generally in favour of it when it says what I want

JustplainoldBuggerlugs Sun 10-Feb-13 11:23:31

<Kicks droid>

Rie I don't chart either, I'm simply too lazy for so much routine!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake Sun 10-Feb-13 11:34:27

I hated charting! I did it for three months in 2011, concluded I ovulated roughly when I thought I did and binnend it. I found it a bit much to be confronted by TTC before leaving bed. It would be more interesting now, since my cycles have become fairly fucked since mc (and I really should check my LP length) but I just can't be bothered.

Work is done, into the outside world I go, and the sun has disappeared whilst I was working, stamps feet.

JustplainoldBuggerlugs Sun 10-Feb-13 11:37:15

Its snowing here, quite a lot. I'm staying in where its warm.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid Sun 10-Feb-13 11:38:05

I know. It's different for everyone and all that x

I'm planning on rugby watching this afternoon as well. I am entirely neutral about this result, seeing as I had my good one yesterday grin

FriendofDorothy Sun 10-Feb-13 11:38:48

I found charting really helpful. It meant that when my temps dropped I knew the droid was on it's way and i dealt with it then.

EuroShagmore Sun 10-Feb-13 11:40:34

I am A Noid. Got up early to work this morning. Someone has checked out the doc I need to work on on our doc management system, which means I can't access it. I just wanted to be done with work for the weekend by about 10am so I feel like I get at least one day off this weekend. Meh.

EuroShagmore Sun 10-Feb-13 11:42:08

Oh, I'm a charting fan too. I like that it usually gives me a bit of warning before Droid arrives. I like to have confirmation that I have oved so we can ease of the obligation shags for the month. And seeing the temp rise gives me some comfort that my body is doing what it should. But I get that it stresses some people out.

Northey Sun 10-Feb-13 14:22:59

Charting is no good for polycystic ovaries, so I am freeeeee of any need to wonder if it would help.

<boobytrap euro's colleague' office, and strolls away from the ensuing explosion without turning a hair>

Has bugsy been around anywhere today or is she sworn off mn for a while?

JethroTull Sun 10-Feb-13 15:17:17

I tried charting but it just pissed me off that on paper I seemed to be normal but still wasn't getting pregnant.

It's pouring with rain here. I've been to my mum & Dad's for lunch & now I can hardly keep my eyes open.
