Hi I'm currently on cd 29 (14dpo) of 100mg of clomid with no sign of af. I tested this morning as af was due yesterday and got a bfn. I was wondering can clomid make your luteal phase longer than normal and if so what's the longest it could be?

Mine was the same as normal, at 16 days. Are you sure when you ovulated? You may have ov'd later on clomid, I did, in which case AF would come later.

Thanks for replying,
I know I ovulated either cd16/17 because of positive opk plus throught having a scan and blood test done all showed about cd 16/17. So I'm guessing mine must have gotten longer.

Clomid's main and only job is to make the ovaries work harder.

It is not a good idea to use OPKs at all whilst on clomid as clomid encourages more LH to be produced, the kit could well read that increased level. Also such kits are problematic to use anyway if PCOS is present due to the same issue re LH.

I was told to use opks by my specialist. They have always been negative in the past two years other than the one I got for this cycle which shows I did ovulate and I don't produce more lh than I would if I had normal cycle with out clomid. I just wanted to no if it can make the luteal phase longer than normal
