5 days late and still no positive result(27 Posts)
I'm now 5 days late and have been doing first thing testing and still no getting the BFP I want so badly so any ideas what's happening I did ask a doctor I know why it isn't and she said its too early but all the tests say from the day of your missed period ?
Help am I just being inpatient
you must have ovulated later in your cycle - and your period is not due yet.
or you could be pg, but for the same reason test won't show it yet as you are less then 2 weeks pregnant IYKWIM
happened to us, DH had a lovely Friday evening, thinking better today as period's due tomorrow, but I got pregnant instead as my ovulation was delayed by 2 weeks (due to illness/stress/run down body etc).
therefore even being 2 weeks late test was still negative!!!!
I had a positive result only 3 weeks after missed period and was definitely pregnant - my beautiful blonde DS2 is now 9 years old!
so there's hope yet - in fact if you've been ill or any other things may have caused a delay in your ovulation you could even be ovulating now!
you could test that and TTC?
best thing is not to obsess, I'd take 1 pregnancy test every 3 days only until either positive result shows or you have a period.
(compared to 9 months pregnancy another 2+ weeks of patience is child play! and good practice!!!
Wow thanks so much that's so helpful to hear your experience fills me with hope
Well I haven't really been ill as such but I did fall down the stairs 2 weeks ago and cracked my head :/ so was a bit worried if I was ? But it would be very early anyway !
Ill try testing for ovulation instead , but I feel pregnant as such just so bloated an achey and my nipples are so sore it's unreal, everything smells weird x
honey, you should have started with that, that sound suspiciously like good news!
and falling down the stairs would not have made any difference to fertility/conception/embryo - although it is a shock to your system, so could have delayed your ovulation!
(basically if anything stressful happens to you, even things like travelling or taking an exam, your body thinks " hang on, that's not good, let's just delay the egg/s, coz this would not be an optimal time for pregnancy, future mum is a bit preoccupied!" hence the common wisdom, that stress is the biggest enemy when TTC!!!!!)
with my DS5 we had our night time fun - the next day I kid you not I was very nauseous and just knew it!
with DS3 I had bad stomach cramps within half an hour of sex and the cramps/period like pain lasted for 2 weeks!
it turned out the timing was perfect (by accident mind you, DS was only 8 months and I was still bf, so didn't even have periods yet!) and the pain was due to the uterine cramps, which often mark the early weeks of pregnancy as the uterine lining grows thick, stretching the organ.
(I actually had that pain with DS5 really badly, then a bit milder with DD)
any other questions?
I'm now very interested to see if you are pg or not - don't promise me, but let me know if you remember!
I am in the same boat I am 3 days late and still a BFN been having a bit of cramping and feeling bloated. So I hope so =]. Please tell us if you are lucky =]. X
jazchase you too sound like bun in the oven!
I hope you are both pg!
Wow that's unbelievable amazingmumof6 you had pain near enough after sex!! You must be mega fertile
I had some pain like cramping but now you mention it sounds more like the uterus pain you were talking about !! It was quite uncomfortable!
Is it possible that it won't come up on a test at all and may need docs for a blood test?
Jazchase I'm so inpatient waiting for a positive , is this your potential first ? I hope your pregs too
Will keep you informed xxx
This will be my second =]. Still very impatient though =]. X
mrsdsquared - clue is in the title - 6 kids in 12 years! (and I had a MC as well, so 7 pregnancies actually!)
DS2, DS3 and DS5 were all conceived with just one try each (in case of DS2 and DS3 we didn't even try, but I know when I got pg!!!!)
we blame iton DH's super sperm, he's one of 4 brothers and they (we ) have 24 children combined! so it runs in the family I guess - we do joke that some of them were a mere high 5 or just a wave hello!
it will come up on the test, but for reason mention in previous posts, you might have to wait for 3 weeks or so for it to show!
patience ladies! <says she, most impatient woman in the world...>
Oh my gosh that is some serious super sperm ! So popped one out literally every two years near enough! That's crazy! ! I can't believe 24 kids combined all the cousins they have !! I'd love a big familly though I think it's because I was an only child kinda boring growing up alone !!
Arghhhhh patience that's all I keep saying to myself !! Surely you have to have some patients with 6 kids xx
Any luck yet? Still bfn for me. Xx
Nope still no bfn for me either but still no AF will be a week late tomorrow so will test again in morning ! If no result I might call the go for a blood test x
MrsDsquared are you me?
I am either 5 or 8 days late now (due to my odd cycle lengths) and i have had 4 BFNs and last week i had a car crash, which was a shock to the system to say the least. Although it was a gentle one.
All i want is a BFP.
I also have had the most sensitive nipples and i am becoming sensitive to smells, and foods i once loved.
We must be the same person !
Oh my I hope your ok after your crash ? It's a scary experience!
I hope your pregnant ! My cycles are usually to the day even the hour ! So this is a first for me, it's a week tomorrow and still a negative! I was in the bath tonight and my aeroelas have seem to have gt bigger and darker but I don't understand how all these symptoms are happening but not BFP !!?
How long of you been ttc and have you got any other kids ? Xx
We've been ttc for just under 4 months, our first. Its so frustrating and sad seeing all the bfn's. But the longer I go without af, showing up the more hopeful I feel. Luckily the crash although shocking and scary was minimal I wasn't going very fast. So I am fine.
Hope your fall wasn't bad, they really do knock the wind from my sails, I am a total , clutz
Fall was pretty bad really I broke by thumb and had to have head glued and almost really injured my neck but rest soon fixed it thumb still hurts though!
It is so frustrating every bfn especially after ten months I hope you don't have to wait that long for your good news
I am going to test again in the morning will keep you informed !
I am like having a situation my male another thread in jut watching tv and my boobs have been sore all day then looked just now and they kinda fluid and crusty nipples but if I was pregnant I would be producing milk yet ? X
Oh no, well I hope your resting and your other half is spoling you. No clue about producing milk, I am a total neewbie when it comes to all this.
I hope you get you bfp today. I tested yesterday, was still a bfn so I'm gonna try and be strong and test next week. Actually I'll give dh the test and ask him to hide it.
He has been spoiling me ! It was our 4 year anniversary yesterday so we are out for a meal and cinema later so excited !
Just tested again its a bfn again I'm just convinced I am it's so weird!
That's a good idea get your partner to hide it then you won't be tempted mind you ie tried something similar and gone out and bought another one lol !
I hope you get te BFP when you test again x
Well we are really broke this month and so I won't be to tempted as it would be a terrible waste of money.
Ooh what you off to see?
I'm gonna test again next sat if af is still a no show!!
Sadness for you bfn!!
What tests are you using?
I just came back from work and they is blood , I don't know if its spotting , af or a chemical pregnancy I'm really scared right now !
Oh no, fingers crossed its just some spotting!! Thinking of you.
jazchase any news?
MrsDsquared how has it all turned out?
MrsDsquared, really hope its not AF xxx
Oh no that is such a shame well you can start all over again next month, if you want to join me and lots of other ladies on this thread it would be great to see you there.
