Don't know if any of you can relate (I'm sure lots of you can) but was just so sure that this month I was getting a bfp.....no period (7 days late) but 3 bfns. Just very frustrating.

Don't give up hope yet. My friend didn't get a positive pregnancy test til 2 weeks after she was due on. U never know. Is it usually late? I'm always regular

MrsEasingwood · 29/12/2012 00:08

Thank you, I'm normally regular to the minute lol. Maybe I've just worked myself up too much over it!! It is just so irritating especially when friends and family seem to pop them out left right and centre with ease :(

Sending u a big and very unmumsnetty hug. It's so frustrating isn't it? I can't help but get my hopes up every month, and when AF is late its even harder not to get ur hopes up. The dissapontment is sometimes just crushing. Sad

Wishing u all the very best for a 2013 BFP!! Smile

How long you been trying mrs?

I hear you. Sometimes you are sure this cycle is The One, everything ties up. You even have masses of symptoms. But the BFN just laughs at you.

I especially hate the cb tests that say "NOT PREGNANT" - they may as well put a picture of someone sticking 2 fingers up at u saying haha!! Soul destroying.

Girraferama · 29/12/2012 18:20

I'm also late by almost ten days and had 4 negative tests - I'm driving myself insane! Had convinced myself I was pregnant then got BFN again and again. I'm going to the doctors to see if they can do a blood test as I need to know for sure!

I can join u....

32 days last cycle
66 before that

Now on day 44 of current and no sign of AF. Negative tests the week before Christmas with a clear blue digi to compound the misery on Christmas Eve.

Have a drink mrs or do a test in the morning!I will be having a few drinks, Can't let thinking I might be pg stop me. Have done that b4 & been bitterly disappointed. I haven't exactly got the fairytale as married, divorced & now with love of my life lol. Have a dd from ex & 2 stepchildren but wouldn't change it for the world as am finally happy. Been trying 4 months but yep thought it would happen quicker. Hope it happens soon for you.

Test tomorrow and have a drink. You've got to live right?

I've got a test for tomorrow but have absolutely no hope but at least then I can make all the yummy cocktails I'm planning on!

How long have you been trying orange?

Sometimes I do think that maybe I'm trying too hard as DH keeps telling me, does any of you feel like that?

Don't laugh but only 2 cycles (three months) but came off implanon in August and only had three periods since!

Although my SIL said there's a difference between trying and TRYING. She is adamant that if you want a BFP you have to do things the proper way. Every two days religiously, no drinking at all, legs in the air, eating really well, etc. She appears to be a master at it too! My body is a temple as of 2am tomorrow.

How much do you reckon you've spent on tests then?

Report
MrsEasingwood · 31/12/2012 00:57

Any amount of time trying is hard though!
I did all of that for the first few tries but after bfns I decided it didn't really make too much difference. I think that come jan 1st I might start again though, I bought what to expect before you're expecting and it said you should spend at least 12 weeks getting your body ready which sounded like a lot to me!
Probably about £150....sounds like a lot now I think about it oops

150 pounds does sound bonkers but it adds up so quickly. I can't believe how much they cost. It's like a woman tax!

Sounds like a good book, think il have a peek on amazon and invest.

Report
MrsEasingwood · 31/12/2012 01:20

They are so expensive and im too much of a wuss to buy the cheap ones in case I get a false reading, I know that sounds daft but I prefer to buy the CB dating ones so when (if!) it finally happens I can see how far along I am. And not to mention the conception tables and fruit and veg it all adds up and that's before I'm even pg!
It is a good and worthwhile read lots of tips for him as well! I found it really useful.

This is my 4th cycle. I don't believe u have to do everything religously for a bfp, ppl get pg everyday without doing any of that. I sure did when I last got pg. I do think it increases your chances so whatever works for people :)

Hey, sorry to gatecrash your thread girls, hope you don't mind. I'm in a similar position too but I'm only a couple of days late with a couple of symptons.... Oh and a BFN at the weekend! I probably shouldn't have tested so soon but I was too excited - What a slap in the face the BFN brought! Angry

Rasberry, I couldn't agree with you more about the tests that say 'NOT PREGNANT'. You're at least a lot braver than me, the boxes alone intimidate me! I use the ones with the lines but even then I almost go cross-eyed trying to convince myself I see a second line!

Mrs , I really hope you get that BFP. Keep trying! Hopefully there will be a lot less bums under pillows, legs in the air and sympton spotting for us in the New Year! Fingers crossed girls! Thanks

MurderOfProse · 31/12/2012 14:28

I use eBay/Amazon cheapies most of the time.. if I see something I break out the FRER (First Response), and a day after seeing a line on a FRER I break out the digital. Works out a bit cheaper and I get to wee on sticks as much as I want.. also means more of a gentle letdown with a BFN too as you can always "oh it's still too early" right up until AF appears.

First Response's website sells five for £8.99 at the moment, as somebody posted on here recently. Got mine a few days later. Complete and utter bargain!!
