"Come on, ovaries! Let's get this party started, yeah?!"

Annalou84 Thu 24-Jan-13 14:23:19

Sorry to hear about af melvu she's a bitch!!!! But like viv said at least you are ovulating so bide with it, I'm sure you will get there in the end.

As for me only 4 days till my app with the specialist. I was reading up about him and his interests are pcos so I'm looking forward to speaking with him and finding out all the facts!!! I hope they put me on clomid as I'm due on a few days after the app and want to get straight into it

viviennewestwould Thu 24-Jan-13 19:16:15

Meluv, I'm only 2DPO.

Annalou, how exciting - you'll feel great when you've spoken to him. Best of luck and remember to write down any questions you have beforehand.

Soph80 Thu 24-Jan-13 21:22:16

how refreshing to feel comfortable asking questions. My doc rolls her eyes whenever I do confused

viviennewestwould Fri 25-Jan-13 07:48:07

Soph, female GPs are insufferable, ill-informed bitches. Fact.

doobeedee Fri 25-Jan-13 15:22:05

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been quiet lately. Just wanted to let you know that I got my BFP yesterday after my first cycle of Clomid. Can't believe it but being cautious as very early days and I've have 3 chemicals on the last year.

viviennewestwould Fri 25-Jan-13 16:56:17

Oh, Doobeedee, that is marvellous news! Well done, old girl thanks

Annalou84 Fri 25-Jan-13 18:12:20

Fantastic news doobeedee well done and on the first round smile

Soph80 Fri 25-Jan-13 20:23:57

Doobeedee thats great news! Can I ask how you're feeling, any symptoms? On first round of clomid too but don't feel any different so guessing its going to be a BFN.

Viv - its not my GP, its my fertility specialist lol!!!!! Shes also really sarcastic. I think she thinks shes funny but I generally leave feeling stupid hmm

doobeedee Fri 25-Jan-13 20:35:30

No symptoms at all. Still not even 4 weeks until tomorrow though. Most people say symptoms don't even start until 6 weeks anyway. Got BFP on Wed at 11dpo but was a decent line do I reckon I would have got it earlier had I tested. I was late as my luteal phase was only 9-10 days before. 13dpo today and got a really good line on a less sensitive test.

Soph80 Fri 25-Jan-13 21:59:54

Right, I'm going to test tomorrow then. Wish me luck, Lord know I've tried this month lol xxx

viviennewestwould Sat 26-Jan-13 11:10:33

Any news, Soph?

Sarahb8990 Sat 26-Jan-13 20:58:06

i had my 'day 21' blood test yesterday, im just wondering how long do they normally take to come back and what levels should they be to show i have ovulated?
i have got to repeat the test on tuesday as i normally ovulate late and they wanted to have a clearer pic of what my body is doing.
im not expecting fridays to be at an ovulatinbg level but just wanted to know what they should be to show ovulation

doobeedee Sat 26-Jan-13 21:17:52

When I have mine at the beginning of the week the results are usually back by the end of the week. My docs and fertility specialist like to see 30 as a result but some day lower. When mine came back at 22 it said "low luteal function"

doobeedee Sat 26-Jan-13 21:18:33

"Say" not "day"

npg1 Sat 26-Jan-13 21:44:06

Congrats doobedee!!!

Well I feel like im about to lose the plot at anytime. I have done a cheapie test cd 35 today, it was a strip test that u leave in the urine for 3 mins, v strange.

My ex had a baby tuesday with his new wife and my girls have gone there for the weekend. They are happy to have a new sister. At the same time I am (envy) at how they manage to have a baby after the first month of trying. I feel awful, dont wanna say too much to dh as he will think im a loon but im so down x

Soph80 Sun 27-Jan-13 08:44:06

Viv - nah, just the usual BFN! You'd think I'd not bother getting my hopes up these days lol. You ok? x

Sarahb8990 Sun 27-Jan-13 16:18:29

thank you doobeedee.
sorry about your BFN soph.

iv been havin bad cramps really low down (simular to when i fell preg with my son) and sore boobs for 2 days and wonder can this happen because of the clomid? i dnt want to be gettin my hopes up

slippysnow Sun 27-Jan-13 18:39:34

Hi everyone,

I'd like to join the crew.. I am on day 5 of my first 50mg cycle of clomid. How's it going for everyone else? can you catch me up... there is lots to read!

Annalou84 Sun 27-Jan-13 19:07:22

I ladies hope you all well!!!

As you know I have my app with the specialist tomorrow, I have wrote some questions but just wanted to ask if you have any questions that you have that I could have missed as mine are more obvious. Just want to cover all basis
X

Sarahb8990 Mon 28-Jan-13 16:23:52

Hi Anna how did your appointment go?

Hi slippysnow, welcome smile
I'm currently on cd 23 of 100g clomid and waiting to hear about my blood test results ( if they ever answer their phone!!)
Hope everyone is ok x

Sarahb8990 Mon 28-Jan-13 17:00:43

Just got my results and they were 59.5 and tht was only 4dpo! So happy I have acctually ovulated grin

slippysnow Mon 28-Jan-13 17:52:57

That's good news! Did you start on 100mg? I've been told to start with 50mg and they are doing a scan on Friday. No action until then sad

Sarahb8990 Mon 28-Jan-13 18:11:49

Thanks, yeh I started on 100 as I hadn't ovulated in around 2 years and have pcos, when I went for my scan I had 1 follicle but have heard about people on 50 that get 2-3. It's frustrating having to wait all the time but least you will know if its working for you :-)

Annalou84 Mon 28-Jan-13 18:53:16

Well that was a waste of time!!!! My clomid journey is over the specialist won't do anything until I have lost weight I'm utter heart broken. If anyone has got any spare clomid feel free to send it to me I would do anything to get hold if it. Even sell a kidney.

viviennewestwould Mon 28-Jan-13 20:20:10

Annalou, I'm so sorry. Does he mean you're too overweight for IVF etc? You can buy Clomid easy-peasy over the Internet (not that I would encourage that sort of thing). I would deffo try to tackle your weight - it will make everything so much harder x

Sarah, congrats on the ovulation! The sore boobs and weird cramps are all par for the course on Clomid, I'm afraid. It's simply the high progesterone levels post-ovulation.

Welcome, Slippy, were you ovulating before Clomid? PCOS? What's your story (age/ttc journey)?

How are you, Meluv? x
