Implantation bleeding possibly tmi!

Morning all
I'm currently a day before my period and am confused! We are ttc no 2 and only in our first month if trying. 2 days ago I had some bright red blood when I wiped which I assumed would probably be implantation bleeding as my periods are like clockwork. However, the blood stopped fairly quickly but there continues to be a brown tinge when I wipe. I also saw 2 (tmi coming up!) stringy bits in the loo yesterday. Could this all still be implantation? Or is it a very early miscarriage? Or just my body being nuts?! I feel like I could be pregnant but now I'm not sure if its all in my head. I've done a first response early response test yesterday which was negative, but that was the same with my first pregnancy so I don't put much in that reply. Will test again if period doesn't make an appearance tomorrow but just wondering what other people's experiences are?
