Hi all just marking my place.

Still feeling a bit anxious as its early days and have now ended up telling my parents and sister due to the wedding situation which I am a bit superstitious about. I am off on holiday next week with friends so will end up telling them too. I think not drinking for a whole week on holiday may be a bit hard to explain! Didn't tell anyone last time till the scan.

Think I am about 5/6 weeks the 12 week milestone feels ages away.

Fingers crossed for next month winter and Eddie (Sorry to lazy to check back to the last thread for everyone else!)

Hi ladies! Just wanted to pop in and say hi on this shiny new thread! I was on the old thread in June, got my BFP but then mc in July. Well guess what, I just got another BFP this week, and am so elated, although equally as nervous in case of another mc.. Trying to stay positive though!

Good luck to all with their BFPs. This thread is really lucky!

Hi ladies...just marking my place so that I don't lose you again Grin.

Off work this week & DS in nursery so hoping I'll be able to relax a bit...in prep for the JSing later this week Wink. DH is also off at the end of the week so we're planning on spending the day together, with a nice bit of lunch somewhere posh in town etc..

Congrats jessie on the BFP...

Arghh I've been on depo and the implant so long I'd forgotten how much I hate AF! Had the implant out on Friday and immediately started really vile, heavy one. Only had 1 period since getting the implant though, so does this mean body is returning to normal?

Oh Jessi, am so sorry, had really hoped you were going to be ok this time, take care of yourself the next few days, is someone with you?
(I'll even break protocol and give a quick )

littlest - according to the nhs, your fertility will return straight away but your cycle maybe all over the place for up to 12 months (so knowing when your fertile might be the problem)
Good idea to have a few periods before bfp too apparently, helps with dating and stuff

Granny - hiya, glad you found us! Have a lovely end of the week ;)
Fx for you!

Coco - I know, it feels so slow waiting for 12 weeks doesnt it? How are you feeling?

NoTea - Hiya, hope this is a lucky thread for you! What did you ask, maybe we can help?

Am off anti-biotics now but think I've missed OV, well if I am ovulating at all (only one ovary now and apparently thats dodgy too!) so had bloods on Friday to check progesterone levels and doctors appointment to discuss it on Thursday so fx

Thanks Eddie , I asked -

"We are TTC our second child now (daughter is 22 months) I've got the ovulation sticks which I've started using today. Am I right in thinking that I'm actually fertile for around 5 days before I'm ovulating?!

I'm presuming that having sex doesn't affect the result on the ovulation sticks? Not really sure what the LH surge is!!"

Thanks

Report
EddieIzzardIsMine · 22/08/2012 09:17

Ok - as sperm can (under the right conditions) live inside you for up to 5 days, then yes you could get pregnant from 5 days prior to ovulation but obviously having sex close to and over ovulation increases these chances

The LH surge is luteinizing hormone and a high sudden rise triggers a release of an egg/ovulation, so when you get a positive on a ovulation stick its showing a rise in LH indicating your body is getting ready to ovulate in the next 24/48 hours(ish) so get shagging!

No, having sex wont affect the ovulation sticks so go for it!

Hope that helps

FX

Thanks! I thought that was right! The thought of sperm living inside me is though!

My cycle is anywhere between 26-32 days long so we're having sex a lot at the moment not that I'm complaining! Doing the ovulation sticks too to keep an eye in it and make sure we have sex extra then! Also once that's happened we could possibly have a break!! Phew!

Can I join? We are officially TTC number 2 now!

Report
PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 22/08/2012 19:17

I think the best time is about 2 for the ov sticks. As the surge lasts about 24/36 hours ish I think it's just to not leave longer than 24 hrs between tests iyswim..
