I'm finally plucking up the courage to see what's going on after 21 cycles and nada, zilch, nowt. I have 24/25 day cycles and according to FF I am ovulating on cd10/11 so I know I need a test in cd17/18 not cd21 but does this make a difference to the cd3 test? Is it cd3 regardless if cycle length? Hoping someone in the know will come along and tell me!

As far as I know, it's CD3 regardless of cycle length.

Yes. CD3 regardless of cycle length, and as you say 'D21' test is 7 days post ovulation.

Thanks - have made an appointment for tomorrow (cd3) just hoping they will squeeze me in for the test or I'll have to wait another month for it.......

Hi dotty :)

In some counties (well, they do it in ours) you can take your blood slip/form to the hospital and get it done there on a first-come-first-serve basis, if your GP can't fit you in.

Thanks Popcorn I don't think they make it that easy here. I know for example that if my DH decides to have a SA, he has to be referred by the GP and have an appointment booked merely to drop off his sample!!

Our GP doesn't take blood so they are all hospital or big GP clinic appointments for blood here.

I think everywhere gets you to make an appointment for an SA because it has to be tested very quickly after it is received so there would be a problem if several turned up at once.

Well I went to see GP who claimed he knew nothing about cd3 testing and that it wasn't offered, only if I were to be referred to a fertility expert Hmm but I'll have the cd21 test done and he gave me a kit for DH to have his SA done.

I've seen someone else mention that they were not offered a CD3 test. I've had both CD3 and 21 done, and an STI swab etc. Here in Scotland those tests (and more I've forgotten) are required before they can refer you on to a specialist. Where about are you?

I am in Norfolk. And tbh I think the day 3 test would've been more helpful to me than the day 21. I don't want any help, I just want to know if there is any hope of a BFP ever (am almost 42 so I know the end is nigh!)

That's interesting stasi I'd not heard about STI swabs, though it makes sense :)
