Please tell me I am insane and my period is not my fault

I had ovarian drilling five weeks ago, and since then I have had sex every single day, pretty much only breaking off in order to google stories of women who got pregnant in the first cycle after drilling.

Last night I had my first hot bath for months, and lo and behold today I am bleeding and now as well as the usual despair at lack of pregnancy i am basically torturing myself with the possibility that this particular failure isn't a quirk of fate but the direct result of my selfish decadence in having a hot bath.

Please tell me I am insane, or I will have to research self-flagellation before crying myself to sleep.

Absolutely not your fault in the slightest. Not even a teeny, tiny bit. Promise.

And I'm very clever indeed so you should listen to me.

You are insane and your period is not your fault. :)

Seriously - a hot bath would not have brought this on..... and I am also very clever too :) xx

Not your fault at all. Totally unconnected. I know how you feel, though, when I was TTC and my period was late, I absent mindedly lifted a heavy trug of water, and got AF a few hours later. I was convinced it was my fault, but then when I actually was pregnant but didn't know it, I lifted a 120kg sack of compost and all was well Grin. Neither a hot bath nor lifting stupidly heavy objects will dislodge a healthy embryo - AF is not your fault. Good luck with your new cycle.

I know I am insane. Sob. But, but, but all the damned sex! 35 days in a row! And all those stories of women who had the drilling and then instantly were pregnant! What the heck else do I have to do?

Oi! And you say I'm insane missus? You're innumerate, I appear to be illiterate (took me 5 attempts to spell missus). Sadly this time round the evil witch was coming, hot bath or not hot bath. However, this is progress for you seeing as the evil witch used to only visit once in a blue moon yes?
I have lured dizzy to the hut of d/gloom where we seem to be more at home. Tis supportive really and less peppy than some threads. Why not grab a hot water bottle and hobble over to join us?

I would say that I am the most cleverist person on this thread and I say that DEFINATELY the period was not brought on by the bath

Or we'd all just stay smelly and never have to suffer a period!

In all seriousness, this is nothing you have done, i'm so sorry that it happened though... fingers fully crossed for this month!

Thank you all. I know I am being ridiculous and it is all my own fault for allowIng myself to get carried away with googling post-drilling instant bfp success stories. I am now ALMOST convinced by your cleverness though and ALMOST believe that it isn't my fault!

Faith - thanks for the invitation to the Hut of Doom. Sounds like my sort of place at the moment...

I'd trust in her cleverness a bit more if she hadn't referred to herself as the 'most cleverist person'!
