I can't bear the waiting. AF due Monday.
It feels like my whole life is on hold.
If I'm not pregnant this month, it's never going to happen!

Please don't do it. It won't change the result and could end in more pain. Why is it never going to happen?

I'm too old
Been trying for 2 years, and I don't think I can do it anymore.
If no joy this month we said we would go for fertility tests or IVF and I don't think I can face it.
I'm driving myself mad trying to decide if syptoms are pregnancy symptoms or just pre-menstrual.
Every twinge.
so cruel

I do understand, 6y here, but it may be worth seeing your gp anyway. But please don't test yet, the tests aren't that accurate this early, don't put yourself through unnecessary pain x

I've had some tests after miscarriages, seem to think all is ok, but not proper fertility tests
We have a DS and I've been pregnant 5 times, it doesn't seem like conception is a problem
I just know that we did everything right this month, and DH is away a lot, so we miss a lot of opportunities.
I've seen the GP in preparation for fertility tests, has to be private cos I'm 41. I have sorted a clinic, phoned them, but not made an appt yet, cos I just keep thinking, next month, next month.

My fingers crossed for you!!

My AF is due on Monday too and I tested a bit on Thurs and Fri - nothing I'd describe as a BFP - more like super faint lines that are probably evaporation marks. This morning I made myself stay away from the chemist, and will try to wait until Monday as there just couldn't be enough hormone in my blood at this stage to get the big fat line that I want!

My AF is also due on Monday and again I've been having lots of lots of weird symptoms (3 months post mc and also on steroids). BUT I tested yesterday and got a BFN. It didn't help. Even though it IS likely to be a BFN I still have to take the drugs for a couple of days and test again just to confirm. Highly irritating, depressing and all of the rest. I feel for you!

Porcupine surely a faint line is still a faint line?

I seem to be having the worst PMT ever! Going rather quickly mad and wanting to consume the entire fridge.

Porcupine, surely any line is good??

Freelancegirl, the only positive for me is lack of pmt, I don't usually get ratty, more tearful.
Also I have back pain, I know that sounds stupid, but it was a very early symptom before
Anyway AF not due til Tuesday, miscalculated, aarrgghh!

I am also due on Tues, but have not been able to muster strength to stop early testing. All BFN, of course. I am really going to try to wait now till Tues to test...

Porcupine any line is good surely and I was holding mine under the light etc, nada!

I'm feeling a bit cynical about the faint lines on the cheapie tests because they didn't come up within 2 mins, and 5 days before AF was due I did a Sainsbury's test which came up with the false positive that is well documented online - the very thin blue line that is something to do with an ink channel. I admit I then became a bit obsessed and did one of my cheapie tests with water to see if it also had a faint line, by way of a controlled experiment (It didn't have a line). My excuse is that my husband is away on business so there is little else to do in the evenings but work or test!

I understand. as i said earlier, been at it for 6y. had 13 mc's and 6 of those were early testing, then period shows up day after period due.

think how great it will be to get a fat line. one you dont have to squint to see and fish out of the bin in case its got darker. not have to worry about evap lines or wonky tests, or poor lighting.... only 50% of women get an accurate result 10dpo. and a shocking amount of those get their period at the usual time. not worth it. at all.

Lissielou, that's an astonishing number of miscarriages, I'm so sorry you have been through that, it must be heartbreaking,

You've completely answered my questions with your link, I really wanted to know how reliable they are, as I have only ever tested after period due date.
I have tried to hold back from testing even then in the past, but I needed to know for sure so I could have testing for recurrent miscarriage.

redrollers, thank you. its frustrating, but ive learnt a lot. i no longer take a bfp for granted. whereabouts are ? which tests have you had? have you had AMH (which checks the quality of your eggs) some clinics do it as standard, others dont.
