Hi there,

I need help!!! Will be starting to take utrogestan suppositories tomorrow and just wanted to know if anyone had any tips. I have read that you should lie still for 30 minutes after inserting them but I have to take them 3 times a day - one of which will be at work!!!

Any advice will be most welcome.

Thanks

Grace xx

Yes I have
They are messy - wear panty liners!
I didn't always lie down each time. It is much easier if you use them as anal suppositories because there's no leakage and also, you don't get the risk of thrush developing.
Can you find out from your clinic if that would be an option? I haven't used them for ages but the last I recall, it didn't matter in terms of uptake which erm place you used.

Hi Prunnhilda,

I have been told to insert them vaginally. Have to say I'm not looking forward to it at all!!!

If I may ask... (god I never thought I'd be asking these sorts of questions!!!) but how messy is messy??? Do they dissolve on contact?

Thanks for the advice though.

Yes I was told sometimes vaginally, and sometimes the other (I did a lot of ivf). Different clinics were telling people different things so I asked and was told 'oh we're saying vaginally this time but it might be different advice next time' - and sure enough, it was. It really makes a difference in terms of comfort and ease of use and washing, so do ask, you might be surprised.

I don't think the waxy blobbiness came out immediately, it needed time to melt [blee]

If you can, do the one at work in your lunch hour and literally put your feet up on your desk for half an hour. Or feet up on a convenient chair in a cafe or whatever. And wear pantyliners.
