sorry, didnt reallygive any background did i!? suffice it to say that both dds were conceived during the first cycle of TTC and now we're TTC number 3 after a big gap ..... but i have no exp of early tests and can't remember if i tested early with the others... although i think probably not....

just not sure i can wait till tue which is my first dayback at work after the hols, so would be so stressful to test then

With all three of my DD's I found out a fair few days before I was due my period and the test was usually quite dark.

It depends on how much it would upset you should the test come back negative. But you know the saying "Its not over till the fat lady waves the red flag" so...

Good luck, I hope you get the result you want whether you do it today or later :)

You should wait. If its neg you probably won't believe it and if it's pos things could still go wrong and af could turn up bang on schedule.

How many dpo are you?

what does dpo mean? am new to this...

does it mean days post ovulation?

i had 3 days when i thought i was very fertile, they were 10, 9, and 8 days ago. (not 11 days as i said earlier). we really went for it during those 3 days!!

Wait till AF doesn't show, [stern face emoticon]

I would wait.

Had similar situation last month, was cheeky (because I swore I wouldn't!) and tested on the friday, was negative, but was positive when I was actually late on the tuesday...

if it isn't far enough from when you conceived you won't get a positive result even if you are.

depends how rich you are! Grin
If you've invested in cheapy sticks, test when you like. If you're chucking away the best part of a tenner each time then wait til at LEAST Tuesday.

I'm due Tues/Weds as well. I won't be testing til then at the earliest. Promise Wink...

I am due tomorrow / monday. Tested yesterday and today both BFN - do know some people though who have had BFN even after AF was due and were actually pg - think early tests depending on what you have work up to 4 days before AF due. Depends on what test you are using and how bad you will feel if you get a BFN. I'm using internet cheapies, not believing them and hanging onto hope! Not sure if that will make it worse when AF does arrive as she surely will :(

Sorry this has probably not helped you at all -I'm just fed up will all the -ve's

i am a fool. i bought a test this morning with a view to using it on monday.

have i waited? have i 'eck! got a BFN and as you all predicted, i dont quite believe it. esp as i ignored the bit about doing it first thing in morning if testing early. grr.

however, i do feel slight relieve that i know as much as i possibly can know today- if that makes sense- and now i have no choice but to wait.

numark chemists ownbrand. 2 for £3.50!.. i wanted the clearblue one but recognised the girl in chemist as she helps out at dds' school, so walked to another chemist which had no 'big brands' ...does it matter?

i'm not ttc yet dd2 is only 16 weeks Grin

i went through a hellish time ttc her and must of tested a million times over the 2.5years it took!

fwiw i only ever splashed out on branded tests after i had a + on a cheapie (mad? moi??) I usually stuck to the cheapy pound shop ones.

from what i have heard the blue dye one (clearblue) are crap for false +'s so probably a good thing you avoided those anyway.

ahh, 16 weeks, how lovely.

i'm shocked at what you said about clearblue! are certain brands considered esp reliable, then? if so, which ones?

Tbh, I'm not an expert but try a site called can you see a line.com. Sorry can't link on stupid phone.

ladylissie is must more informed than me. I defo wouldn't waste money on expensive tests though. Iirc most of them only detect 25miu when the cheapies I used were sensetive to 10miu.
