Please help - am I pregnant?

I've always been slightly paranoid about getting pregnant and have used a home pregnancy test at least 3 times before. But something really weird is going on.

About a week or so ago I started getting the worst period pains I have ever had - so bad I thought I was going to puke. They weren't cramping pains because, weirdly, I get early period pains in my back, just below my kidneys. So the location is normal, but the pain associated with them was not. They died down a bit, and now I have twinges around my uterous etc but they are really mild.

But nothing has happened. I thought I'd started a couple of days ago - no, thought I'd started this morning - no.

A couple of days ago I noticed my nipples were really tender. Normally round my period I get what can only be described as boob-ache. But this is really different - my breasts don't really hurt, but my nipples hurt at the slightes touch, even just brushing my arm against them in bed. I frequently don't bother with a bra, because I work from home, but since the beginning of the week I literally cannot go without one, it's too painful.

Other than that, I've gone a bit weird with my food - I love pasta with sauce I make myself using passata. Well, 'loved', because now I can't stand it. I do get bored with food sometimes and was wondering if it was that. I'm a bit off tea too. It's really weird - I'm hungry, but can't think of any food I really want to eat.

The big but is that I am on implanon and have had it implanted for about a 18 months now. So I know the chances of me being pregnant are like 0.01% which is making me think it's maybe just some weird period symptoms.

What do you guys think? Bizarre PMT or is it time to start worrying.

Thanks in advance :)

So your period is late? Have you done a test?

The only way to find out if you're pregnant is to take a test.

I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but it's the truth.

This is the thing, my periods are erratic at best so it's not really a great indicator for me. Should probably have mentioned that a little earlier, lol. I have a test upstairs from a previous mild panic but was wondering if it sounds like it's even worth using it. Having never been pregnant, I have no idea what it's like or if this is the kind of thing that I should take as signs to start getting worried.
