wow how immense is the urge to have a baby once it gets hold of you! We got married last year and were planning to start ttc at the end of this year but im slowly edging it forward and now aiming for april! In the mean time am quaffing pregnacare and doing a bit of charting so when the time comes i'll know what im doing.
But can i stop looking at nursery things online? no, am addicted! Blush what on earth will it be like when i actually am ttc!

It will be an utter nightmare if you don't chill out a little bit more.

Get some other interests and stop shopping for a non-existent baby.

Sorry, that sounds meaner than I intended.

But really, getting completely obsessed with conceiving is a bit of an occupational hazard. Look around these boards - they're full of women chatting about whether they're pregnant and imagining early pregnancy symptoms and talking endlessly about the juices they drink and the various other things they try that are little more than superstitions.

Getting all wound up about having a baby months before you start trying and planning everything you want months (or possibly years) in advance is likely to mean that by the time you actually start you're where some women take months of unsuccessful TTC to get to.

Why do you need to wait to April? Why not just ditch the contraception now, and find plenty of other things you like doing to keep you busy so you don't get completely fixated on getting pregnant? It might take a while and being obsessive isn't going to help you.

That's a bit harsh spidookly Hmm, dreaming is there a reason to wait for april? Sounds like you're quite keen now...

There was a thread a while back about mad things people do while ttc - I'll link if I can find it.

Spidookly what a killjoy!

Dreaming I'd say roll with the obsession and enjoy it! You are likely to only do it a couple of times in your life, good for you if you want to do it with passion and enthusiasm Smile

x-posted too, but still spidookly let dreaming do it her own way. Its not for you to say what the "right" way to TTC is.
