Am having a down day about the whole ttc process (and the complete lack of any progress!) so thought I'd focus on some positive aspects of ttc.

So far I have come up with:

  • you get to do lots of bd'ing
  • for the first time ever I have long nails which I'm pretty sure is down to the folic acid

Surely there must be others? It can't all be negative (quite literally).

Get yourself down the doctors and have some tests, especially if your over 35!!!. How long have you been trying?

Unfortunately not quite long enough. It's been 10 months but am 32 so they won't test me yet. I have been trying to avoid making it to 'scientific' and have therefore tried the opk route and also used the cbfm this cycle, but cbfm showed low for the whole cycle and opks are always negative. I know I should temp but I'm almost scared to now in case that is inconclusive. That probably doesn't make any sense as on the one hand I want to know what is going on but I'm scared that in doing so I'll find out something is wrong.

If you have been trying for 10 months and the cbfm and opks have all showed negatives, I would see a gp. They usually don't refer women for tests until 12 months but it seems as though you have a strong case that you may not be ovulating.

It is very natural to be scared but as my gyne said to me when I was having to undergo tests...it is better to find out any problems sooner rather than later. And also, the vast majority of fertility issues (barring advanced maternal age and early menopause -- which is very rare!)can be treated in one way or another. So get your self tested!

Best of luck...
