We have been TTC for DC3 since Oct 2010 after taking out the Mirena coil. The nurse told me that protection pretty much ends as soon as the coil is out. My periods have not returned and I have done more than 20 pregnancy tests - ALL NEGATIVE

I know its probably too soon to worry but i just wanted to find out if there are any other people who have been in these situations before?

My periods have always been irregular but i got pregnant within a month with my 2 kids.

Thanks

Do not retest; seeing repeated negs is very disheartening.

Irregular periods are often caused by hormonal imbalances.

You should seek medical advice asap if your periods have not returned. Its not too soon to seek medical advice.

It would do no harm to have blood tests now done to see what your hormone levels are like. Common reasons for irregular periods include problems with the thyroid gland or a condition called polcystic ovaries. Both can be detected through blood tests.
