Cervical mucus between ovulation & AF

Does anyone know what CM is suppose to be like after ovulation. I definitely ovulated 5 days ago and I seem to getting EWCM and I'm not sure if that is bad (my temps are high etc so I know ovulation has been and gone). Also is there a change in CM if you become pregnant????

Same scenario playing out over here. Hope someone in the know comes along soon!

from what I've read it goes from EWCM to creamy between ov and AF. It is also creamy when the mucus plug is forming, so some see an increase in creamy mucus as a sign of pregnancy.

Thanks hairyfairy! Charting at the mo,- assumed was supposed to be dry now. Symptom spotting driving me insane! Clutching at straws, I guess. I know technically creamy mucus can be for any number of reasons, also in TCOYF it states clearly that in the mid luteal phase there may be another burst of cm- totally unrelated to ovulation and definitely infertile. It's just surprising for me as generally don't have much cm anyway- and to have it at such a late stage in my cycle threw me a bit!

Hi, FXXX I hear ya! It's bonkers isn't it, all the symptom spotting, knicker checking, SWI, mucus checking, boob checking, cervix checking (I've never actually managed to find mine!) etc etc.

thanks girls, that's really helpful! I don't seem to symptom spot, i think i must be glass half empty as If i spot sth that is out of the ordinary or i think it is, i start worrying that i am producing the wrong hormones at the wrong time...urrr don't ask!! good luck all.

Hi angster it's so hard to not to get into that isn't it.

Do you use anything like a Clear blue fertility Monitor? that has helped me hugely in recognising my cycle, and what hormones are doing what.

Hey hairyfairy, i do the temping thing. I stopped for a couple of months as i thought it may be causing me more stress but actually have started again as I feel much better about knowing what's going on. I also got an OPK to work this month which i was very excited about!! I m/c'd my 1st pregnancy last July and i think this is where my lack of confidence and well let's say slight neurosis is coming from!!!
how long have you been ttc?

As we're asking questions: GENERALLY speaking...how long after smiley face on opk do you ovulate. Was hoping temping would tell me after the event, so to speak- however, due to illness, drinking and erratic sleep patterns: this has put a spanner in the works! TIA

Congratulations Belle! May you have a healthy pregnancy....but you really mustn't raise our hopes like this. Our frazzled nerves are already torn! imagine the poas fiesta that's about to start! Just out of curiosity : when did you get your BFP? Before or after AF due?

belle29 · 22/01/2011 14:12

Sorry FXXX Blush hopefully haven't caused a run on tests - just wanted to share my experience Smile. Was the same the month before I got my BFP - was totally convinced I was pg and was pregnancy symptom spotting like mad! Nearly had to take out a second mortgage to pay for the amount of tests I did!

The month I got my BFP I waited to test until the day before my AF was due (nearly killed me!) and I got a faint line then did another one the next day and got a confirmed 'pregnant' on a digital clearblue.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you! Smile

Thanks so much Hunni! Really pleased for you. As if we needed any reason to poas anyway! Take it easy xxx

Thanks belle29 and many congrats!! My bloody AF arrives early every month so I don't get a chance to even use the poas!! As for CM, there obviously isn't any standard signs it seems!! After a bit of Sat afternoon research (how crazy ttc has turned meHmm), apparently we can get an oestrogen surge 5+days after ovulating, hence the change in CM. So there it is, no panics, it seems normal..phew!!

What if it's accompanied by cramps low down like the imminent arrival of AF? And period not due until next Monday! That is my dilemma!

Hi, Angster

I've been TTC since comign off the pill for the first time in my life in Oct O9 and I was forty one then

I got pregnant in March 10 (suspected ectopic, ended finally in June 10)

Pregnant again in September 10 (MMC at 8.5 weeks, found out at ten weeks, ERPC Nov 22nd)

Pregnant again January 11.

So not bad going in the actually getting preggers stakes, but not great in terms of carrying to term.

Hairy Fairy: hope this one sticks, everything crossed for you Hun. You've been through so much. Puts everything into perspective- especially for someone like me: obsessing over every little twinge: for no reason. Take very good care of yourself. Good luck. x

FXXX i'm not sure what cramps are lower down mpast mid cycle...is it too early for implantation pains?? Not trying to get your hopes up of course. Anyway, really best of luck for this month, crossing fingers for your. x

Hi angster! Thanks for your kind thoughts. Really hope you get a sticky one soon FX. Am on cd 20 today. Regular 28 day cycle. Ovulate on 14th cd like clockwork. Been ttc for just over a year now. Dtd been timed well too. No more cramps today? No symptoms. Oh well, what will be will be! Fertility tests all fine for both of us. Maybe just not that lucky? Who knows. Baby would be nice; but not committed enough to set ourselves up for a fall by having any interventions. Both decided we could live happily playing role of godparents to family and friends kids. Very relaxed this month- due to having come to that decision with Dh at the start of this year. Feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that there is no ttc obsession: which is what it had become for me! sorry for self indulgent post xxx

Hi Fxxx, i think the fertility thing is so weird, here you are with what sounds like a very good menstrual cycle, good LP etc etc and it has been a year of ttc. A friend of mine conceived 3 of her children on the first go but her second one took over a year. So there doesn?t seem to be a pattern even in the most fertile people. I am sure this year will be yours and mine too! I wish I was in the same relaxed place as you though ? currently I think about it practically all day every day, hence why on MM whilst at work, sssh!!! Wink Wink Anyway, striving for your place of relaxation xx

Oh angster... I sympathise fully with how you are feeling. I've been like that for the whole of 2010-it's only now that we've accepted that it's not so bad with just the two of us that we've come to terms with it. The whole year was marked by ovulation, dtd time and the 2ww. All holidays and family get togethers, including birthdays were tarnished with this obsessive shite elephant in the room. Amen to 2011 being lucky and fruitful for us, if not then at least let us be content in our health and happiness: which we sometimes take for granted such a large extent of our time. xxx
