Hi there,

I'm a new poster, sortof and was wondering how far in advance I should come off the pill before trying to conceive? Me and my OH are getting married July 29th and want to try for a baby (our first) straight away. I've heard the pill can affect your fertility for a while after coming off it and I want to be "ready" as soon as we get married (honeymoon fun! :D), though obviously I don't want to run the risk of getting pregnant before we're married either.

Well, I would definitely recommend to come off it allowing 3 months for your body to settle. I wish I'd come off sooner, as it was masking PCOS, and so it took 6 months before I could see a FC.

Obviously, you'd just need to use other protection before then.

Totally agree with Got2dance. Just use another contreceptive till wedding day and then you know in your mind you can relax on your Honeymoon and go for it !Good Luck !{grin}
