I'm watching and am already hurling abuse at those idiotic children having a baby. Contraception? Hmm? Hmm?

Aries I think they may have been using some ancient Roman form of birth control.

Ralph, bless him, is clearly on the autistic spectrum . I wonder how he'll cope with parenthood. Barbara the midwife is very good with him.

Totally agree about Ralph! I'm forcing myself to watch as I fainted at the birth video they showed when I was in school! :(

There is a LOT of screaming going down.

Is it really as bad as the one that had the epidural made it seem with her incesant screaming .. I really really hope not!! The midwifes seemed a bit Shock so i'm taking that as a good sign it wasn't entirely normal!

No - I hate it. Pisses me off that all these people that couldn't be arsed to use any contraception successfully have babies when I know so many people, myself included, that would dearly love to be pregnant right now :(

No no no it isn't! She's made the first episode because she's car crash telly, you only have to look at the faces of the medical staff to see how nonplussed they are by her, nonplussed and frankly starting to get a bit fed up - she's what happens if you end up stuck on your back on a bed, have completely forgotten all your breathing exercises and start to panic. It's very difficult to get back from there once you lose it. I'm awful when I feel panicked but by virtue of my patented mooing labour technique I got to 7cms on cocodamol and a birth pool. We shan't mention the six bottles of gas and air thereafter, followed by a spinal and an em c section, and a trip to a high dependency unit. But ooooh gosh I so want another go. No, really I do.

Felt a bit sorry for Ralph tho not being allowed in to see the baby being born. Dad should be in there.

I have just watched it because I couldn't sleep. Wrong move. I definitely won't be getting any sleep tonight! I am 37 weeks with my first and burst into tears watching her. I haven't been even a little nervous about labour and now I am terrified. Sad

Dreya, love, please don't worry. That woman was clearly unusual given the looks which the midwives etc were (very unprofessionally) giving her. I said on the Telly addicts forum that the prog makers are first and foremost making an entertainment programme and they are after ratings so they don't choose "ordinary" births to show - that's why we see the more unusual ones, like the woman who screams blue murder and the boyfriend with Asperger's. There are loads of births which go smoothly and undramatically and yours is very likely to be one of them. Don't fret! xx

So glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought Aspergers' about Ralph. Bless him, he was so clearly trying to say all the 'correct' things - it was as if he was reading it out of a book

"I feel so helpless, is that normal" Grin

LOVED the screamer, she was so unashamed LOL - she was still screaming after the epidural. At one point didn't she scream "I can't feel anything" ?????

Another one here wanting another go and even DP who is not very happy about my insistence on more children was looking a bit misty eyed at the excitement of it all.
