Anybody used this when ttc??? I've read it can regulate cycles, reduce pms, produce higher levels of progesterone naturally??..but only take for the first half of cycle??

Any experience advice would be appreciatedSmile

Hi, I'm in no way an expert but I found Agnus Castus really useful - I had nightmarishly irregular cycles (between 21 and 60 days) and it got them stabilised at around 30 -33 days. I think it also helped with my luteal phase too. And the BEST thing was that it almost got rid of period cramps completely.

If you are TTCing you need to stop taking it once you've ovulated as it supresses oestrogen which you'll need if you're pg.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Hi ljg72, I had a really great experience with Agnus Castus, otherwise known as Vitex in some circles! I believe it was very powerful in terms of optimizing my fertility -- and I conceived naturally about 12 weeks after I started taking it (together with a pretty strict fertility diet of no alcohol, no caffeine, no fizzy drinks, limited sugar and refined flour foods). Here's a link with more great info on optimmizing your fertility naturally, and this page is all about Vitex:

good luck! Karin

Would not self medicate with AC as it can make any underlying hormonal problem worse. If you really want to use this then you would be better off seeking out a properly qualified medical herbalist re dosages.
