Tip of the day

Never ask a child IF they need the loo... moodlum

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

Grr so once again you can only win a holiday if you go on holidays!!!

(12 Posts)
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah <not too bright emoticon>

I dunno why I'm bothering, tis not like I will win hmm
I meant they might make it one of the categories for the competition.
They have a sling cat, but I can't win a holiday there wink
Backpacks seem to be the things that only go on your back I think.

Maybe they'll add the sling category in if you ask nicely...
I will forgive them though as there is a non-holiday based review option available (don't ask why I have done 3 posts for one thing).

Sorry Alexia!
I assumed it is normally the sections they don't have many reviews on
Does an ergo count as a back pack? or a sling?
I read that as a back pack holiday....

I can see what you mean about needing to specify certain review categories for certain competitions, but some review categories (book reviews, parenting tips etc) allow most people to easily enter a particular competition.
You can do a review for a baby backpack instead.

I wonder if it's so you enter a specific competition - if it was just enter any review, you might end up winning something useless.

When I saw the comp details, I did wonder if someone would comment on this.

It could limit who can enter - and how often you can enter as well. Someone who goes on lots of holidays could enter lots of times. It would be good if you could enter the comp by doing other reviews or adding something to mumsnet local.

I guess the prize giver may have been quite specific in how they wanted to competition organised - don't know if this is the case.
I have nothing against only doing reviews in certain sections to win, but you have to admit there is a sick irony that those of us who want to enter because we can't afford a holiday, can't because we haven't been on one to review!

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
