Tip of the day

Never ask a child IF they need the loo... moodlum

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

so if you've won once... do you get 'disqualified' from winning again?

I've been here 6yrs and never won anything <sulk>
I won once, was very very happy, but was allocated the girlie prize of lots of barbies and only have son's. I love entering, it is buying a lottery ticket, there is nothing wrong with hoping - even if I am more likely to be hit by a bus smile

Ive won 3 comps on MN and been here 5 years
same happened to me bs, I won some nappies when my dc were way beyond that stage and it was redrawn...
I need a Wii for Xmas please... <shakes coppers out of very empty purse>
I only won a competition once but still haven't had the prize (supplier's fault obviously not MN) - though did wonder at the time if that stopped me from winning a Joggler to review the following week when I obviously deserved one SO much ...
I have finally won, this month, and have been here 6 years
hope i win again soon hhee

Can i ask a newbie q... are you only allowed to discuss MN comps in the Talk section as most of the threads I've read in this section only seem to refer to MN sponsored/promoted competitions?
I have won more than one prize - 3 or 4 from what I remember. However not wn any MN prize for ages now well over a year for sure.
I hate to sound like I am showing off, but I have won 3 times on MN (please don't blacklist me, I am still in need of a Wii or a holiday). This is just good luck and the fact I have used the site for several years now. I must win about once a year.

In the deepest darkest past when mn was very small and very quiet I used to win loads of competitions! I haven't won for ages and ages now. (Though to be fair I don't always enter.)

But I've done loads of book reviews this weekend - I want to win the set of books for our school library grin

This one is mine!

No we don't have a blacklist at Mumsnet

We do try to be fair, so if we were drawing someone every week say, we would perhaps re-draw...

Guess you're just unlucky

because ages ago i won a prize and replied to MN that i didn't want it because my children were too young for it (that's before i realised they do eventually grow up... doh!).

but i wonder if, as a result, i am on some kind of blacklist or something [conspiracy theory emoticon]??

or maybe i am just unlucky...

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
