Never ask a child IF they need the loo... moodlum

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 10-Nov-08 10:22:07
Oh errr NOT that we are desperate or anything, in fact DD is entirely calm and dispassionate aboutthe whole thing, she is after all 4.

<okay she may be dancing around a teeny bit saying "Has it gone in the computer Mummy? has it? has it? HAS IT?">
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 10-Nov-08 10:19:39
Ah actually I sent you six emails. hmmm. blush did any get through?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 10-Nov-08 10:09:52
Oops I sent you emails but I am not sure if they were too big. Can you confirm they got through?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Sun 09-Nov-08 11:04:10
I have a question.

We have ben busy designers here in the Slur house, and dd, ds and moi have all designed an iggle piggle (admittedly ds's is a bit err avant garde). Now when you say one entry per person, do you mean per person or per household?

Sooooooo, Can I send you 3 separate emails?
Sorry being dim but in the "designed by" box do you want real names or MN names?

Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 06-Nov-08 19:56:54
ok have done it as a .tif (whatever that is !) and sent it - can we confiorm if it got through ok ?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 06-Nov-08 19:43:45
I already have it A4 (my printer/scanner is that size) but still too big to email. Will try to save as a jpeg
Add message | Report | Contact poster By (MNHQ) Thu 06-Nov-08 19:20:49
Hope this makes it easier, have reduced template to A4 size, so smaller file size, plus easier to print etc.
LIZS What software are you using? You should be able to compress the image so the dimensions are A3 but the file size under 1MB. The quality isn't quite as high but shouldn't be a problem. Avoid saving as a BMP or TIF file, go for something like a JPG.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 06-Nov-08 17:16:57
how can you get it less than 1mb - even a black and white drawing version is 1.1 ?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 06-Nov-08 16:47:50
Can't do A3 will have to be a4- dd doing hers atm
Thanks very much Geraldine. Will put the kids name down also so they know it wasn't just my effort!!!!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By (MNHQ) Thu 06-Nov-08 14:23:49
if you're posting your design, can you include your MN nickname and your email address.
thanks
Add message | Report | Contact poster By (MNHQ) Thu 06-Nov-08 13:46:00
grumpalumpa, I will find out and post asap and whomovedmychocolate thanks for info about file size
erm quick question but if i am were blush going to post what would I need to include??? Obviously igglepiggle but do I put my mumsnet name and home address or just email addy or real life name??
The kids have had a whale of a time doing this but really don't think anyone would 'buy' it!! Not even out of mother love!!!! grin
BTW Cbeebies always recommend A3 as a standard size for the birthday cards which is prob why they want this A3. Mine is deffo not suitable to show on cbeebies grin
Hi Geraldine - I've entered by email - but with the limitation on file size there is no way you'd be able to print it at A3! Just not doable without it being absolutely shocking resolution!

But of course I have a high res version of my ahem artwork muwhahahhahahahh which I'll probably post online at some point to scare small children!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By (MNHQ) Wed 05-Nov-08 09:09:27
A3 was the template Children in Need supplied. I'll double check about the size and whether it's fine just to do A4. And, yes, it's open to anyone ie children or adults.
wmmc - no, you're the only one to admit you've entered!

I probably won't because my printer is on the blink (due to Tom shoving pens in it) and I daren't ask DP to print me off one at work.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 05-Nov-08 08:25:17
have you seen the episode where he wet farts all over his blanket?
Please tell me I'm not the only person who has bothered to enter? blush
Ooh I've done one....what fun!
Is that the one with the wank blanket?? grin
Why oh why does everyone think of S&M when they think of Iggle Piggle? grin

I find Iggle Piggle quite sinister tbh hmm He reminds me of Lurch from the Adams Family
Is it meant to be done by adults or kids? I know it says either but the adult ones will possibly be better than the kids?! Also, where can you get A3 prints done?
I deeply, deeply, deeply shouldn't have gone to look at the picture. I go off on a tangent too easily.
Sorry. I think I need to go back to the drawing board.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 04-Nov-08 18:31:29
igglepiggle ina gimp mask and chain?
Why is it A3?
Can we ahem, help, the DC with this. Mine are only small so I'm so worried they won't be dexterous enough to get their 'vision' just right.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 04-Nov-08 16:41:56
Thanks,I hope so as I don't fancy tracking down a place with a bigger photocopier to do an enlargement copy onto A3 as some don't do the colour copy at that size.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By (MNHQ) Tue 04-Nov-08 16:35:34
I'm sure it'll be OK.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 04-Nov-08 16:29:04
I've been to the library to print out the template, it is A3 size , but I had to get it done on A4, as the printer doesn't take larger paper, so the blanket area is quite small but ok, do you think it matters?
PMSL!!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By (MNHQ) Tue 04-Nov-08 15:06:36
You can copy the igglepiggle template on to A3 paper and post your design to the address on the link if you don't have scanner.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 04-Nov-08 14:32:52
what like nipple tassels and crotchless pants?
would love to, however no printer or scanner!

very jealous of whoever wims this.

Good Luck!!

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
