All you have to do to win fab prizes is tell us what you do (or did) for a living.

Everyone who fills in their careers details on our Mumsnet Mentoring section will be entered into a competition to win a luxury London hotel break, tickets to theworkandfamilyshow.co.uk, plus two sessions to discuss your future career plans with executive coach, Katerina Gould and occupational psychologist, Julianne Miles, co-founders of Womenreturners.com AND £250 worth of Love2Shop voucherssmile

Filling in your career info (whether you love or hate your job) will enable other mumsnetters (and their children) to make more informed career choices. If you head to Mumsnet mentoring you can also sign up to be a Mumsnet mentor and/or volunteer an hour of your time to go and talk about your career in a local school.

Closing date Feb 14th.

Good Luck!

I cant find mine... I work in a customer services call centre

HermioneWeasley Mon 27-Jan-14 16:46:00

Done it

culturemulcher Mon 27-Jan-14 17:42:41

I've done this, because I think it's a great idea... in principle... but now I'm worried that all that information is attached to my username.

CarrieMumsnet - Can you tell me how it will be used (will the username be displayed with the job info??) and how to maybe delete it blush

Glitterfairys Mon 27-Jan-14 17:51:23

Added mine smile

ParsingFancy Mon 27-Jan-14 18:18:20

Oh what a stupendous idea!

I don't think you'll want mine, alas, I'm too long out of harness.

Doing it now ,... I knew MNers were a well paid job, but really, starting band is 0 to 10000K?

ParsingFancy Mon 27-Jan-14 18:24:51

That's £10,000, Stealth. I misread it as £100,000 too!

yes but K is used in place of a 1000 surely

so it's either £10,000 or 10K
(my job involves being anal about numbers)

ParsingFancy Mon 27-Jan-14 18:33:03

Oh, I thought you'd misread it.

I was shock at the lowest band going up to £100K, that was all. Then I counted the 0s.blush

Steffanoid Mon 27-Jan-14 19:20:19

opened it on my computer instead of my phone and figured it out smile

Ellisisland Mon 27-Jan-14 19:49:06

Done. Didn't even realise that section of the website existed before blush

rookiemater Mon 27-Jan-14 19:54:29

Ditto culturemulcher - happy to fill it in in principle, but not so happy to be asked actual name of employers and actual salary. What happens with the info?

superbagpuss Mon 27-Jan-14 20:04:12

waiting to hear answer to qu about how info used before completing

culturemulcher Mon 27-Jan-14 20:19:21

CarrieMumsnet We neeeed you. Could you come and answer the couple of questions earlier? I think I'd like my details removed, svp.

You can leave out employer name - I did

JessicaMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 27-Jan-14 20:20:04

Hello all,

We completely understand you might not want your MN username associated with your entry. When you fill out your profile you can choose one of your past usernames or a completely new one - assuming it isn't already taken. If you've already filled out your profile but are now worried you can always edit parts of it yourself or report it to us.

Please only name your company if you feel comfortable doing so, it's not required.

We were inspired by this thread last year to build a database of careers which Mumsnetters and their children can browse and hopefully gain insight into other Mumsnetters experiences and expertise. Read the full story here.

Thank you for adding your careers! flowers

JessicaMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 27-Jan-14 20:22:36

StealthPolarBear ahem, good point blush sorry yes the k is redundant.

culturemulcher Mon 27-Jan-14 20:24:45

Thanks JessicaMumsnet Please could you remove my entry? I'll fill it out again using a different name.

ParsingFancy Mon 27-Jan-14 20:35:40

Doh! Didn't even see the K. blush

Don't shatter my illusions. All MNers earn a fortune grin

JessicaMumsnet (MNHQ) Mon 27-Jan-14 20:40:28

culturemulcher we've deleted that now.

Feel free to re-add under a different name!
grin

Sorry, I started writing the description of my job but was so completely put off by the tick box section at the end I stopped.
