Lounge is reds and golds, fireplace is dark wood and quite small. Lots of lights and sparkle but not much tinsel in my house at Christmas. I'm looking for anything- small tree with lights, musical box etc- to go in the centre of my mantelpiece. A touch of magic is what I'm after.

Any ideas?

sounds like we do a similar thing to you. I have a poinsietta (sorry about spelling) I love it because its pretty goes in with the colours and is alive, but still feels very christmassy

We have a lovely M&S street scene with snow covered houses etc. You put 2 or 3 tealights behind it and it looks like the windows are lit up. Have a look at item 120331813236 on ebay for similar

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
