x ray of DS's arm. what does it mean?

My DS has broken his elbow and has had to have k wires inserted. This has meant fortnightly check ups and x rays to check the healing. He also had some arm x rays taken when he was younger and last year because he seemed to be growing very slowly and whilst the consultant was looking through these x rays today I noticed that there was a comment saying that he had mild dysplasia in (I think) the wrist bone. Nothing was ever mentioned at the time and I've looked on the internet but can't find anything to explain this. What is it and should I be worried? Not sure if it would explain his slow growth. Thanks.
