does this need speech therapy or is it something they grow out of?

DS1 is almost 8 but over the past week or so he struggles to get some words out.
Its not all of the time but now he's not swallowing his spit he just let's his mouth fill up and then he ends up with it all down his chin and over his clothes.
If you tell him to swallow it when he is trying to talk to you he does it so it's not like he can't do it. Just need some advise really.

I imagine this is something new then? If it is, I would go to see your GP ASAP. This doesn't sounds normal at all.
