Why is my best never good enough?

I thought getting DD to the behavioural optometrist was a good thing

Only she phoned after 6 to say DD needs loads of tests - scans & bloods. She really isn't happy with what has happened

I have been saying that for months why did no one listen to me.

Is my opinion worth nothing?

It is really really really nothing to do with you. You are being absolutely wonderful fighting your dd's corners and it does seem like you are finally getting somewhere. But it is a massively uphill struggle and you must be getting exhausted. Try to remind yourself that this is good news, she is trying to do something, finally someone does care., And then have a good stiff drink!

I don't drink....but I am considering taking it up as a recreational sport

Oh well, there must be something comforting you can do

Ime sadly, this is what it is like having a disabled child: trying to get them appropriate help is like constant talking to the wall. It's exhausting. You want to grab people by the cuff of the neck and shake them. But you know you mustn't, because your child's welfare is at stake.

Hopefully, though, your dd will get appropriate help soon, and if it is the syndrome they suspect it seems (from googling) that it is likely to be for a limited time.

It's very shitty imo - & people with problems like this should get support not crap
